There were a ton of interesting cars at this event.

The biggest surprise of the inaugural Traqmate Skidpad Challenge? A certain 9-year-old named Mason DeJarnet.

Mason took to the skidpad in his Quarter Midget and dropped everyone’s jaws, recording 1.867g of lateral g-force. That bests Factory Five 818R driver Bob Stuke, our second-place finisher, by a whopping 0.327g.

More than 50 drivers made runs that day, with the field ranging from classic ’60s sports cars to the latest exotics. You can find the full results right here, and the class winners are highlighted in blue.

Thanks to the great participation, we’re planning on holding this event again next year. The Traqmate Skidpad Challenge is the latest addition to Speedfest at the Classic Motorsports Mitty. This year’s Mitty filled the Road Atlanta infield April 24-26 with an automotive three-ring circus. While HSR delivered a full slate of historic racing, the Classic Motorsports staff kept the infield hopping with car corrals, test drives and more—including the Traqmate Skidpad Challenge.

Look for next year’s Mitty to return to Road Atlanta in late April. Watch our website for details.

Full coverage of the Mitty, including the Traqmate Skidpad Challenge, will highlight the August issue of Grassroots Motorsports. To sign up, click here.

Yes, that was a good time. With a little more tweaking we can have even more fun next year.

How about year info for the BMW's? There's 30+ years of possibility for the actual car model for most of them.
