Found on Craigslist for $850, this 95K original mile, 1976.5 Super Scirocco hasn't been on the road since 1986! Plans include a 2.0 liter ABA transplant and period-correct suspension and interior mods. This car is nearly rust free, but will need a total fuel, braking, and drivetrain refurbishing. VW only made 2,500 or so of these Super Sciroccos which were introduced midway through 1976. The "Super" came from the addition of CIS fuel injection-- the first for a H2O cooled VW. They were all (very 70s) metallic goldflake brown, with bright burnt orange carpeting. The Super Scirocco also had unique seats, door panels, and opening wing windows. This car shares its underpinnings with the Mk1 Rabbit, so finding most parts is relatively easy.
