GRASSROOTS MOTORSPORTS NAMED THE OFFICIAL MEDIA PARTNER OF WORLD CHALLENGE SPORTS CAR RACING CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
Grassroots Motorsports magazine is proud to serve as the official media partner of the 2011 World Challenge Championships. The staff at Grassroots Motorsports will produce this year’s World Challenge Fan Guide. We’ll also increase World Challenge coverage in the magazine, produce a series of World Challenge-themed videos, and feature race updates on our website, grassrootsmotorsports.com.
Plus, we’ll feature a special World Challenge section in the June 2011 issue of Grassroots Motorsports. The editorial will include:
• A history of World Challenge and a preview of the 2011 event. • The anatomy of a World Challenge car • Advice on slick vs. DOT rubber, and tech tips on how to adjust your race car’s setup after you change the tires. • A Q&A session with series champion Randy Pobst. Beyond the editorial support, Grassroots Motorsports is also sponsoring a Grassroots to Glory contingency prize: We’ll award $500 per weekend to the team that most embodies the Grassroots Motorsports spirit.
Tim Suddard, publisher of Grassroots Motorsports magazine, stated, “We are excited to be a part of World Challenge’s success, and feel that their brand of motorsport represents some of the best sports car racing in the United States. Many of our readers and fellow racers--the ones our magazine grew up with--are now competing in World Challenge. This makes our relationship with the series an instance of us coming full circle with our readers, racers and fans.”
The relationship kicks off at this year’s Streets of St. Petersburg race weekend from March 25-27. Grassroots Motorsports staff will be on hand shooting videos, taking photographs and interviewing drivers to give you the behind-the-scenes scoop on what World Challenge is all about. Please visit us at our booth in the event’s vendor area.
Following the St. Petersburg race, Grassroots Motorsports will be sponsoring a media day on March 29 at Gainesville Raceway. This intimate test, photography, editorial and video session will feature some of the top teams in World Challenge as chosen by the series’ management and the editorial staff at Grassroots Motorsports.
Here are some other story topics we have planned for the magazine:
• Understanding the three classes that make up World Challenge. • World Challenge safety requirements. • Brake modifications allowed in World Challenge. • World Challenge-legal suspension modifications. • Tires and wheels used in World Challenge. • Legal engine modifications in World Challenge.
Finally, Grassroots Motorsports will be the presenting sponsor of the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Monterey at Laguna Seca, held from September 16-18. We’ll have some very special opportunities for readers who wish to attend the race. Keep tabs on grassrootsmotorsports.com for more.
