So the time has come for me to sell my CRX project car. I bought it September 2015 and started working on it for the 2016 GRM Challenge. When we bought it, it was not running and was in rough condition. It is still in rough condition but we did get it running back in December 2015. I started it and drove it around our 5 acres about once a week up until April 2016. Then it sat for till August 1st 2016. I tried to start it but failed, looks like just the battery is dead. I will try and jump it tonight and I might pull the battery and put it on a charger. I did buy a new battery for it back in December 2015 and I bet it is still under the NAPA 18 month warranty. If it is bad I will try and get it swapped out for whomever ends up with it. So on to the details about the car.
1991 Honda CRX DX
423k miles
5 spd manual
Manual Windows
Only surface rust, none under the car or in the quarter panels, very solid car
Clean Title
Stock mud flaps
Stock 13 inch steel wheels
D15B2 appears to be all orignal - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_D_engine#D15B2
Good - New Fuel Pump, New Distributor/Coil, New Spark Plugs, New Main Relay, New PCV, New Fuel Filter, New Battery (Might be bad now, but should still be under warranty), Oil and Filter Changed, New Valve Cover Gasket.
Bad Interior is complete trash. Engine runs good, when it runs, but burns oil. Smoke screen might be good at the GRM Challenge, so people can’t see how “fast” it ran, or how many cones you hit. :)
Parts included with sale price
95 Honda Civic SI front seats - Look pretty good for their age, but way better than what is in the car.
91 Honda CRX Si rear disc setup - complete take offs with all cables and hoses. Should be a easy swap.
4x Wheels and miss matched tires off a 2001 Civic EX 14 inch steelies.
Car is currently located in High Springs, FL 32643.
Asking $650.
Price drop to $500 or trade for pit bikes, dirt bikes, or anything with a motor and wheels and might be fun to pilot.
Replaced the battery under the 18 month battery. It turns over but only starts if I pour some gas down the dual port throttle body. I think it's the fuel pump again!!
I have a '91 SI ECU and intake manifold I will donate for shipping to whoever buys this if it is going to the challenge. I don't remember if I have the injectors or fuel rail, but I will look if anybody is interested.
How about a CB200T with carb issues? No title for it. Plan was to rebuild the carbs and use it for a pit bike, but never got around to it. Bonus is, it's only a few miles down the road. Between Alachua and Newberry.
