My daughter is 8, and attended the concour for the first time this year. At one point (when she wasn't busy dancing in the rain and playing in parking lot puddles of who knows what) she grabbed my phone and got after it. Here is the concour from her perspective!
more to come!
She’s hired!
Cool to see the event through the eyes of an 8-year-old.

About time the Hoop got some recognition.
The best pictures are always from a slightly different angle than anyone else is seeing. Nurture that, my man

Maybe it's time I get a decent-ish camera for my kiddo...
I got a Camp Snap for the stepdaughter. She seems to like it.
Robbie, easiest way to multi-upload is desktop drag n drop. No way on mobile I've found

Yeah kids have great perspective on things oftentimes. And absolutely, I love getting down to the challenge.

I think she reads and writes better, too!

She is always asking to take pictures, and usually I just brush her off. Glad I didn't, and hopefully I will change my ways a bit.

Just a regular iPhone 15. That has been bent by getting hit with a softball.

I'm starting to think the same thing...
she has an iPad that's a few years old and it does pretty good, but we don't really let her carry it around.
if there are suggestions from camera people?
In reply to Mr_Asa :
Camp snap huh? I'll look at that.
also, the desktop thing is extra annoying because I first have to get them from my phone to my desktop. I can't seem to go directly from iCloud or Google photos. Oh well.
Funny that it's a somewhat damaged iPhone 15. I have to wonder if she meant to have the motion blur in her shots or not. Maybe a mix of both?
A Ricoh GR II might be nice. I've never used one, but a fixed focal length (not a zoom lens) with a macro mode would allow for close up shots of flowers and bugs without having to change the lens, and they seem fairly straight-forward. You'll probably get a ton of suggestions...
Looks like she had lots of fun maybe print out a couple that she likes for her bedroom wall ,
are there any "all weather" cameras that are cheap enough to let her play with ?

looks like the Olympus Tough TG's are between $250-$470, used @mpb:

If anyone is considering a film camera for their kid (I know I am), Pentax made the Pentax Auto 110.
As the name suggests, it takes 110 cartridge film, which can be bought online from a few different places.
