So....I just put a deposit down on an '08 Mazdaspeed 3.

My dark green 4-door Integra daily driver just rolled over 200,000 miles, and is fairly worn out by most measures, so I figured it was about time to look for something a little newer. Original shocks, bushings, engine mounts, clutch, ABS pump are all in need of replacement. I recently replaced the timing belt and water pump, so they're good for a few years. It needs oil added every week or two, though it's not leaving much in the way of puddles and doesn't smoke, so I'm not sure where it's going (although there is plenty of oil on the engine - I guess that's what you get with gaskets this age). It still looks good, though it has some love bug paint pitting on the front, and 15 years worth of door dings. Glass and paint is all original, except for the rear bumper cover which has been replaced/repainted a couple times due to minor rear-enders (which didn't damage anything but the bumper cover and the exhaust pipe on one occasion).

So the dealer that's going to sell me the 3 is offering $500 trade-in on the Integra, which is about what I would expect for a trade-in of a 15 year old car with 200k miles on it.

So my question is, is this car worth significantly more than that either in whole or in pieces, to others? You don't see a whole lot of these on the road anymore, so I assume used parts are easy to come by.

Thanks for any input! Or offers.

I can safely say I would happily give you $500 for that car.

I'm in Gainesville, FL.

A couple more disclosures!

I had to cut the carpet out of the back-right floor when a partially used jug of new 5W-30 got loose (note to self: unsealed oil containers + kids in car = bad). The interior is in need of detailing, but the beige upholstery, dash, etc., is still good - no tears or cracks. Also, the ventilation blower needs to be replaced. It works 98% of the time, but occasionally sticks "off" for a while, and it makes a horrible racket. OEM stereo/cassette works fine (don't remember the last time I put a cassette in it), but the front speakers burned out at some point.

Included in the deal if I sell it will be Thule rack crossbars, that I leave on the car most of the time. They won't fit the Mazda...

I still have the window sticker, glossy brochure, and most maintenance/repair records. It's been a heckuva car - in 15 years it has literally never left me stranded once. Only one time can I remember that it failed to start...and the solution was disconnecting and reconnecting the fuel pump electrical connector. Which reminds me, I have the full OEM factory service manuals, which will be included...

MrJoshua: I'll email you.

Cheers, -Mark

I would think you could get $1000 easy if you sold it yourself. If I had the money I would buy it.......but I don't. Check the classifieds on Honda-Tech.com and you can get a better idea what Integras are going for in similar condition.

It's good karma to offer your car buddies the opportunity to match a trade in offer.

That's how I landed in my WRX. A buddy who knew I was looking for something else called me up and said "Carmax offered me $6500 for the WRX. If you want it, you can have it for that."

Well I had forgotten if it had an official name, but Google reveals it is called "Mud Creek Falls" or "Little Estatoah Falls," in Sky Valley, GA, up the road from Dillard.

Alright got pics. Had to wash it once first you know! My wife loaned our real camera to a friend so these point-and-shoots will have to do. MrJoshua I hope the Teg serves you as well as it did me! I'm a little bit nostalgic for it, but not too much:

Hey Josh, if you want to turn a quick bit of profit on it, let me know. I really need a daily driver that isn't that POS Jeep.
