I am in Dayton and don't need a diesel rabbit, I am in Dayton and don't need a diesel rabbit, I am in Dayton and don't need a diesel rabbit, I am in Dayton and don't need a diesel rabbit...
Any turbo kits available? I had a GF that had a diesel rabbit. I once started it without repeating the glow plug a few times, like she did- at least it took care of the mosquitos for a while....
not a bad car, but not terribly fast.
I've been doing my hour long commute for 21 years. The other day, my wife and I were talking about how few times I'd had problems. Adding them all up, we were surprised that I had been stranded 6 times.
5 of them were in the 2 year period that I drove a diesel Rabbit. I hope that tempers your lust

Maybe, maybe not. The ad for the Golf i bought three weeks ago is still up. Could be sold and a lazy seller.
My brother will be in Dayton for a business conference next week. I'm going to have him check it out. I have a sick image of a Rabbit Diesel Lemons/ Chump car. If I put in a larger gastank I may be able to run the event without refueling.
tortoise or the hare........or the rabbit!
I really want the Brat instead of this but it is so tempting. I have to remember that I swore off VW's after my last few.
I think my parent's neighbor made it to about 220K on his before the head cracked or warped. He kept it in the driveway for years after, wanted to repair it and get to 250K miles. Eventually dumped after he switched to a Mercedes Turbosdiesel.
The more I see this thread, the more I think about my own diesel Rabbit. I always thought it was a pretty decent car, but in hindsight, it was probably one of the least reliable cars I've ever owned, and I've owned some real junk. This one is 30 years old, and mine was less than 10, so unless they get better with age, I think anybody would be wise to steer clear of this thing.
