I am on the hunt for a complete 5.3 with harness and ecm. Would like an engine that was running previously with no problems.
Im also looking for any LS car intake, a 98-02 F-body oil pan, and Patriot block hugger headers needed for the swap im doing.
Im located in south central Indiana. I'm between Indianapolis, Louisville, and Cincinnati.
bump, just ordered the headers and i think im probably picking up an intake tomorrow, still needing the 98-02 F-body oil pan!
Some of the other options are cheaper if the dimensions can work for you. The gm "muscle car" swap pan is a tad deeper but has much less sump front to back for clearing crossmembers. It's hard to find used pans that are not for pickups of new camaros, neither of which work very well in anything but fullsize trucks and new camaros
I am taking a good running 5.3 with 210,000 out of my suburban and replacing it with a built 6.0. The 5.3 will be avail once they are done, but the harness, ecu, gas pedal stay with the truck. Don't know if that will help you, but I will have it. I also have a mild cam and new head bolts. I had the cam and went a little more radical and to studs on the 6.0

yea the 'muscle car' pan (really just an H3 pan) is my back up plan, it will clear the crossmember and rack probably better then the F-body pan will but like you stated the sump is over 2 inches deeper and im trying to confirm with a guy who has done the swap im doing on if that 2 inches will put the pan lower then the crossmember.

i am going to look at a 4.8 this week that is going for a really good price. do you have specs on the cam though?
I will check when I get home, but I think this is the right one, 54-450-11, comp cams, 260/266 .513 intake, .520ex lift. 800-5000 rpm. listed as a good upgrade for a 4.8 or 5.3.
