Looks like a good deal on a clean vintage Celica .

I'd probably be going after this if I hadn't just bought my MGB GT.

That looks like a really solid car for the money

Oh man, I had an 81 Celica as a first car, in 1997 when I first started driving. The 20R will laugh at the abuse a teenager can dish out.

Mine was handed down from my mom, who bought it brand new in the spring of 1981 after I came into the world. It was a maroon, GT lift back with a 5 speed.

My sister drove it for a few years after I had moved on. After she bought her own car, my dad sold it to one of his co-workers for $750. As far as I know, it's still on the road.

I have a cousin who is a James McD.

I have always thought that this generation of Celica was the best, while other folks dismiss them as "just another appliance Toyota".  Ironically, just last night I found one on a Craigslist, an ST 2 door, that was a twin to the one my little sister owned.  This one looks nicer in some respects than that ST.  But the interior looks a bit scruffier on this example, looks older than the 63,000 miles would let you think it should look.

I am definitely quite interested, though.
