another season = more garage action
tore into the rear suspension, intending to replace the lower control arm bushings (smaller arm in the pic)
then i found this, pooched trailing arm bushing, so the project goes a little deeper
here's the Koni Race strut, the Ground Controls and the ST rear bar hanging (literally) out awaiting reassembly and then storyland
more pics tomorrow
latest toy, made quick work of the control arms
result of sandblaster vs control arm
this is what i paint most chassis parts with, it's very durable and its self priming
making up new rear brake lines from the drop hose to the wheel cylinder, great tool
rear suspension all back together, just need to reassemble the brakes and move on to the front end
so far replaced the 4 real lower control arm bushings and the strut mounting bushings (upper and lower) with ES poly bushings, and replaced the trailing arm bushings with new stock ones. sandblasted and repainted the arms and replaced the steel brake lines
still need to replace the control arm bushings and strut mounting bushings on the front. i already installed the steering rack bushings when i assembled the car and the aftermarket front crossmember i have eliminates the radius arm bushings. upper control arm mounts in the front were replaced with an ingalls camber kit that already has poly bushings in it, same on the rear camber arms. no front sway bar and the rear already has poly mounting bushings. bushing is already installed at the shifter but i do need to do the one at the trans.
more to come tomorrow
in progress of the front arms, all done now just need to make some adjustments and do a few other things
this looked ugly under the hood so i took it out
i think i need a low profile jack??
before shot of how the interior looked most of last season
pile of junk i took out
