Thanks guys. I appreciate the support. FWIW: Other than email this forum was the first thing I looked at when I got my phone back.

No kidding, glad you're recovering! Hoping you come out of this bigger better faster stronger. Cars will always be around - glad you will be around longer, too.
A little update. I'm doing pretty well. I've been trying to walk at least three miles a day. We've been taking a couple trips a week to Monterey/Pacific Grove/Carmel to walk along the coast where the weather is much milder.
On Monday I got fitted for a portable EKG unit that's about the size of a Matchbox car. I'll wear it for a month. If everything looks good over that month I'll be cleared to drive again.
Another update: I got cleared to drive again last week. My wife had a lot of apprehension about it but after a couple days she's back to letting me drive everywhere. We took the C8 out for a couple drives this week. It was warm enough (but not too hot) to take the top off for one of those drives.
We just got back from dropping our daughter off at college about 300 miles away. I drove about halfway there and back. We hadn't really gone out to eat since I got home. I'm supposed to cut back on salt, cholesterol and sugar. It's pretty berkeleying hard to find a decent meal that isn't a salad and I'm not really a salad guy. We wound up getting sandwiches a couple times for dinner.
The diet is helping though. I've lost another 5 pounds since I came home. I'm down 50lbs (20% body weight) since the HA.

Good for you, man, taking it seriously. It's so sad when someone gets a wakeup call and they end up hitting snooze.
Great update! Find some vegetables and figure out how to prepare them to reduce the need for sugar and salt.

We're making a lot of roasted broccoli, cauliflower and carrots with just a little olive oil and pepper.
We also like Brussels sprouts with olive oil/pepper then a olive oil, red wine vinegar and honey drizzle.
I'm grilling chicken and salmon on almost a daily basis. We also use the chicken in salads and stir fry.
