Oh my, yes.
Indeed they do....and they're so danged smooth, you HAVE to rely on the tach as your ear and seat of the pants will get you a busted motor every time.
The thing is, once you make the oiling system work and the internal enginer clearances loose enough that you can zing it up there, you still have that big heavy pressure plate and clutch disk spinning 10-11k next to your feet, with all of those grooves and heat cracks and such making it rather like a fragmentation grenade in topography.
THAT is the part that gives me the willies. When I do the T5 thing, I really want to get rid of that whole mess and go with a 7.5" or 5.5" multidisk unit. For RPM safety.
Over rev due to tach delay on a hillclimb is an unlikely issue, but it's something I'll have to aware of. The engine is capable to stupid revs, but I don't want to go over 9k for longevity since the rotors weren't clearanced for continuous 10k action.
I know the only way to get good at welding is to do it more, but man do I not like welding. And it's hot as balls.
Did a little exhaust fabrication tonight. Will do some more in the morning when it's cooler.

PM me and I'll swear on my Saab's turbo that I wont divulge no matter how much beer I'm tortured with
I should add that I know nothing about rotary engines. Except it seems like you guys never have to shift.
The dyno runs were to 9k, which is really as high as I want to run it without having the rotors race clearanced.
Direct comparison can only be done on the same dyno in the same conditions. Any dyno saying a stock port S4 was putting down 146 is an optimistic one for sure.

Ouch. From what I saw it was pretty spot on with other cars they had (stock focus, stock civic, syi swapped brz) I hope you are putting out big numbers and crush all with this beast!!
I know. I'm just feeling pissy today. Any chance you can tell us the current weight of this beast?
Do you do any chump racing with the red rx7? If so, what races are you doing this year? I would love to compare notes!
