Hi guys, I posted this on the Crown Vic forum but got no responses.  Reposting here since you guys are my other panther experts :)

The airbag light on my 2004 Crown Vic LX stays on and isn't flashing any codes, just solid on from when the key is the run position to when it's started.

I had removed the passenger airbag when I tried to fix the AC blend door actuator. I didn't remove the dash for that job and just did the taxi cab method with a shim. Afterwards, all four speakers stopped working. I ran new lines for the front speakers and they work now, so I'm assuming that wires got damaged in the process. I also tried three different blend door modules and none of those worked. I ended up doing the eBay bypass, which is better than nothing.

The car will also randomly lock the doors as I'm driving, which again points to wiring issues.

I've tried unplugging the battery and grounding the wires by the airbag connector, but the light is still on. The light stays on if the airbag is plugged in or not plugged in.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks!

You need a scanner that will read and clear airbag codes.

Thanks, I was hoping to avoid that.  Any recommendations on a cheap one that will do the job?
