A. Does anyone need something hauled N-S or S-N? We are going to unload the Stude today and will be loading for the Challenge trip starting sunday. Funny, as I typed this I realized we finally sent the last piece hauled from last year about a month ago.
B. Does anyone need any particular parts that we may have?
Dave, I can bring the headers if you are interested. I did get tires...from another Dave.
BTW, I got to work on something yesterday. It was slow going....but therapeutic.

We never did find drag tires. Sucks but oh well. So if you have any 26" tires mounted on Ford pattery 5x4.5 that would be great!
You'll be happy to know you're bar made it in though!
Hey remove windshield wipers or leave on ?

Yeah we are in the same boat, couldn't find any tires to fit our 15" wheels.
Hey anyone from Chicago making the trip down? Need a transmission transported from up north. http://m.grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/200x-classifieds/4x100-14-inch-vw-wheels/26840/page1/#post431370
That one specifically. :D
Thanks
Oh yeah almost forgot. I need a pair of manual windows regulators/crank mechanism for a NA miata. I can take delivery at the challenge.

Tested the car today and she's ready! Some cleaning, some detailing and add a couple of decals and I'm loading up.
See you guys down there.

Sweet! Its progress. Can't wait to see you guys there. We mostly worked on the tow vehicle and trailer this week. Got our previously non functional trailer brakes working again...probably a good thing.
i'm so bummed to not be going this year. i will miss the regulars, the irregulars, and especially the GRM staff. i heart you all!
The good news is that there is only one more day to go before we leave. I can't handle working on this silly thing anymore.
The bad news is that there is only one more day to go before we leave. We didn't get nearly as much done as we hoped. Unfortunately it looks like the only pressure we will be forcing into the intake runners is atmospheric :( Just not enough time to finish the turbo. Sucks a lot.
We need to go back to NA tomorrow. Finish up the interior. Wash it. And load it on the trailer 'cause we leave Tuesday morning!
Civic ran around on its new motor tonight, and I'm going to pick up our trailer early in the morning. Surprisingly we're still on schedule, although at this pace I'm going to have to do my studying at the hotel over the weekend, I've got an economics exam, and a mechanical design exam Monday morning when I get back. Not sure that's going to happen
Made a lot of progress this weekend and the car finally runs!
Uranus ran really rich last year so I put an adjustable fuel pressure regulator in and drop 6psi out. It's the same 10ish on the wideband at WOT. I hate computers... We leave Thursday afternoon, more tinkering, less fuel pressure/more boost...

Must be nice.
I think I win this one. I had my wife switch her work schedule to have the evening off Thursday so I can go check in after 6. Should take me 15 minutes or so to get to the hotel. Would take 8 minutes if it wasn't rush hour.
Hi MrJoshua
I am bringing tires for another team. Do you have an affiliated tire installer type Dude avail for later Thurs or early Friday?
In reply to wheels777:
I know the 2 shops I trust, but not sure about their availability Thursday evening. Fri am should be fine for both. The really really wide low profile stuff is pretty much a Town Tire only job in this town. Spinout007 or Dyinto may have some more ideas, I will check and get back with you.

I am glad to hear that everyone is largely managing to pull it together and make it down in some shape or another. I'm sure that it appears that I am taking the easy way out with my entry, but believe me that keeping a 200k+ European car on the road does involve some stress... I have most of my issues solved but I would be lying to say that I am in as good of condition as I should be...
I'm heading south Tuesday morning, just gotta finish packing and paperwork. My girlfriend and I will be taking our time along the length of 95. First stop will probably be in the Virginia area. I always wanted to check out Savannah so I am planning at least a stop their to get some good southern food and scout for a return visit.
Drive safely everyone, see you all soon.

I hate you right now. I drove 14 hours yesterday and I'm not even a quarter of the way there...
Next year, I'm working remotely from Florida for the month before the Challenge. ;)

You are having a waaaay bigger adventure than me, and your car already runs.
Well, our Challenge car runs and drives, so it's the tow rig's turn to go under the knife.
The exhaust is falling off, the interior smells like 15 years of previous owner's farts, the transmission is very suspect (we are bringing a spare), and it barely runs. It did get a tune-up yesterday, but it needs some final timing adjustments to run better. It made a test-run to the scrap yard this morning to drop off a car to get crushed, and it had some struggles. We expect it to be in ship-shape to go by tomorrow morning though! I can't wait!!!
On my way home from work so I can finalize a few issues on the car, however I got the tow situation locked down and it's not costing me a dime to get there.
Scammed the use of a work truck and trailer with all fuel and tolls paid.

HA! I've got ya there, 10-12 min if I play nice in the corners. 6-7 if I'm really pushing it.

Considering the fact that we will probably be taking a break from wrenching on the cars (both at my house) to go to the host hotel to pick up paperwork, lets call it a tie.
