I'm picking up Lofi's NB in March with the K1s, and I have 3D Printed center caps before. Finding the right material is tricky, I don't have a printer that can do ABS, so lots of the PLA materials dont have the heat capacity or sun loading durability to be used as center caps. Guess that gives me an excuse to upgrade my printer and do some ABS K1 cap runs for GRM folks, and of course share the STL file so people with printers can print their own.
If theyre 3D printed, its easy to emboss a logo on the cap, so no need for fancy cap covers. See these caps that we designed with the Eagle logo built-in, we can do something similar for a Kosei or Mazda logo.
I THINK the MR2 was like that, too, when I had mine.
Again, this might be where some 3d printing comes in, then you could adjust the depth of the cap to suit your needs
I'm stuck between silver 15x7 Kosei K1 and 15x7 Enkei RPF1. It's for my red Honda CRX Si. The price for the Kosei K1 is $330 cheaper than the Enkei RPF1 here in Canada. I'm considering getting the cheaper Kosei K1 and using the extra $$$ for sticky tires instead of buying the Enkei RPF1 and installing cheaper tires. The car is mostly street driven and I'm setting it up for auto-x.
With my measurements, they will both clear my KVR performance/Wilwood 4-pot brake kit with the 10mm spacers provided.
Does this make sense?
Check out my Instagram build to have an idea. @benhurcrx
I’d put the money towards tires over wheels. Plus, it’s not like the K1 is that heavy.
Cool car, too. Some K1s will look very good on it.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
Yeah, the Kosei will look better on the CRX than the Enkei would anyhow.
KVR! Arew you in Ottawa?
K1 center caps??? Yes please!!! I didn't realize this was a thing.
Glad i accidentally opened this thread!
K1's are stronger than RPF1. The latter are soft and will bend fairly easily.
And given that this is a street car and your roads up north are likely not the smoothest...

I know I had at least one set of original K1 center caps back in the day. They looked like small coffee cups.

Drove mine to work today on ECS rubber. Damn HP+ are so dusty, this pic reminds me I need to clean them this weekend.
