problem I am having with the new volvo is the lack of rims I like. I know, I am very picky, but the few I like go for BIG money. When I had my saab NG900, the best part of that car was the rims. BBS RKIIs.
Differences between the saab and volvo is the Volvo has a 2mm smaller bolt pattern (nothing to worry about) and a larger hub flange. The Saab uses a 65.1mm and the volvo a 66mm.. do you think enlarging the flange .9mm would weaken the rim?
I loved my RKIIs and miss them. I think they would look pretty bitchen on my 850
I take it you're planning to run wobble bolts? Other than destroying the value of your RKIIs (which are now selling for close to $1k a set), I see no problem, other than the offset, potentially - I think the RKs will be 10mm or so out - MR2 guys do the same thing you speak of to Z32 300ZX wheels all the time without ill effects. Probably best to have it done at a machine shop, though.
If it were me I'd just sell the RKs and call up Rota for a special order set of whatever you want.

It won't weaken the rim at all. They will still fit on a Saab too, just be lug centric. Find someone with a wheel lathe or a mill and a fly cutter.

Come on, son! Friends don't let friends roll on Rotas.
Volvo sure does make some good looking factory wheels though:
I'm in a similar boat as you, I check Craig's List almost daily, for that smoking deal, but have other issues that are a little higher priority than wheels.
there are a few volvo rims I like.. the Canisto being one of them.. and they seem relatively cheap
