I currently use Hazard Fraught connectors on both my compressor and the air hose and I just don't seem to be able to get ones that don't leak - either slightly, or slightly more. Given that my compressor has a pretty small tank that's a bit of an issue.

Anybody got a recommendation for a source of good quality connectors that don't leak out of the box?

Off the shelf Campbell Hausfeld at TSC, maybe not commercial quality but they last a long time for what I use 'em.

These couplers are pretty nice. I haven't seen one leak (I have only used a couple though).

I get most of my air tools and connectors at Harbor Freight. None of my stuff leaks, and I use much of it almost daily. Teflon tape, or tighten it more? Whatever I don't get at Harbor Freight comes from either Lowe's or Home Depot.

In reply to ncjay:

I believe he is referring to leaks where the nipple mates with the coupler. Teflon tape or tightening isn't going to fix that.

air line swivel on the end of air hose will make connectors last longer

In reply to EvanB: Yeah, I guessed that much, but still, none of my stuff leaks. Possible batch of crappy connectors? Beyond that, I have no idea.

NAPA sells all of that under their Tire Hardware line, also Milton is a quality brand.

+1 for Milton brand connectors, we use them in the shop at work and they are as good as I have found. I used HF connectors when I was in school (the cheap brass ones) like everyone else, and took a hose is the gut literally when the connector broke off sending the hose and heavy connector into my gut. Bruised for a week.

All I've got is that I just changed all my stuff to "automotive" (the two on the left) from "industrial" (the two on the right)...

...on Ditchdigger's recommendation after getting sick of mine hissing at me nonstop. Maybe it's just mostly new connectors, but so far much better. I don't remember a time when I didn't have to set tools down three times with the old industrial connectors looking for an angle on the hose that didn't leak...

That's pretty much it.

Those look like they'd be worth a try, thanks.

For years I worked with sprayers in R&D work and Milton was the only way to go.

Picked up a basic Milton kit at Summit Racing on Friday. Thanks again for the recommendation, those connectors made a big difference.

Time to swap out the remaining ones I think.
