I was poking around today checking out the new BMW Z4 GT3 on the BMW Motorsport website and found a way to ride shotgun in an M5 around the green hell. No idea what it costs but it sure looks fun!

If memory serves, Sabine Schmitz is one of the drivers. If that name doesn't ring a bell, to the YouTubes with ye!

I'd gladly pay for Sabine Schmitz to tote me around the ring - anybody who can get a ford transit around in nearly 10 minutes - just wow.
Yeah, I bet a ride with Sabine is more then Challenge money! haaha

Good luck getting a ride with her in the first place. I would not be surprised if she doesn't drive it as much as in the past. I think she's still one of the hosts of the German Top Gear, and if that's true, it certainly eats up a lot of her time.
Here she is in the UK vs German Top Gear competition

Fixed!
And, my apologies for revealing my inner "pig-ness".
When I was in Germany in 2005, I looked up the Ring Taxi. With the Euro to dollar conversion. it would have been $160+ to do it. I should have. Damn.

160$ wow I would have been prepared to cut of one of my fingers to get a ride.

We were all thinking it :)
When I looked into it the Taxi was booked up way in advance. Also it wouldn't have worked out as I planned on getting there Sunday mid day, but the traffic on the Autobahn meant I didn't get there until 6:00pm. It wouldn't have mattered as so many people had thrown themselves at the scenery that the track was closed most of the day.
I say go yourself and take your own car/hire car. $160 will get you 6-10 laps depending on what the exchange rate is doing.
