Also, Im loving the rear simplicity. Why not add to it by making the exhaust side exit. Its my new favorite design element! just a few ideas that came to mind. As it is, I really think youre onto something!

Im not sure how easy the exhaust routing is going to be for them but i imagined that taking it out the back away from the passenger/driver will be easiest. Side exit would be cool!!

I did no opening and smaller openings, multiple openings etc. The shape ends at the proposed radiator location. I figured using a stock radiator but adding a lot more fluid volume would require a much more efficient setup in getting air to the core and probably a helper pump along the way. More surface area on the tubes going back to the engine will help but making the most of the air you have i think would be best. All speculation of course :)

I figured there would be a mix of venting going over the hood and under the car out to the side skirts for aero reasons.

Ha ha, thanks, that's awesome. In regards to your de-Dodgeified front opening, I always think "1959 Cadillac" when I see a car that needs a grille. So here's my quick and dirty update of your concept, now with 100% more chrome:

I love the front end, especially with the crosshairs I think you should try and mirror the front opening at the rear, you could use the cross hairs as elements of a diffuser or a rear wing.

On an unrelated note. Would any one be interested in a 1+1 design? I'm smitten with the Yamaha OX99-11 at the moment.

Other than the FFR team have already developed a side by side chassis? With all the simple as pie talk and track only focus some may be scratching their heads at why they developed a side by side design in the first place, would loose even more weight.

The body looks fairly simple, but where would you get the glass for that? Aviation junkyard F-16???

Hey guys, this is my first attempt at cat design. Definitely tough! I tried to use elements from a Stratos, a Muira, a P1800, and some newer Ferrari language or whatever. I didn't want the back to be all masculine and stuff - thought it would be cooler if it were a graceful little car that went like stink. I'll keep working on it - and any feedback is much appreciated!

Hey that's not bad at all.. I could see that lifted 3-4 inches and racing around a rallycross course!

This body shape seems to be a familiar theme, The layout seems to favor this shape, It kinda flows naturaly to it. I think the winner will be in the details of a shape very similar to this.

In reply to Franze:

when you click the button it will ask for the URL of the hosted image, but sometime it goes goofy and gives you the wrong code such as below (imagine the brackets { } are actually < > since it goes invisible when i try to post this)

{img src="www.address.com/image.jpg" /}

Anways that extra bit at the end after the last quote " / will break your link, so just end the tag ">

Yes the side view did end up looking a lot like the gumpert :) I do like tornante a lot and thats probably why. That shape really does work best with the driver/engine layout on the template.

Geez a guy cant make a cross grill these days

I have to admit being jealous of some of the rendering skills that I see here. I'm still trying to figure out which end of the pencil to draw with... Anyway, here is a design that I have worked up:

I am surprised that the project does not contain a restriction on the windshield, a project must start there. it's easier to draw by starting with a windshield chosen in advance, and it is cheaper.

Argo, i think you put some good thought into the design. For me it doesnt look muscular enough at the rear. My opinion doesnt mean anything though. I think you have some nice lines on it!

I know many pages back different seats were brought up but I would like to know some rough numbers on the passenger compartment. Specifically width. Id like to do an open wheel design and its kind of hard without that kind of info. If i remember right the seats posted were between 28-32" wide best case putting the compartment width 60-70" wide. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
