Washing and detailing cars is still, to this day, my longest tenured job. I started washing neighborhood cars when I was 12-13. That morphed into a sort of mini business once I had my license of picking up cars, bringing them back to my parents, full on detailing and then returning. Next came running the detailing crew at a local country club, etc. At my peak, I would wash the exterior and clean the inside of my car every single weekend, waxing pretty much every other. Obsessive is the word.

I've since gone the other way and hardly ever wash, let alone actually detail our cars myself. They're always generally clean because I'm generally neat but it's nothing like it used to be.

Get me back on the horse. What's best practice these days? It seems lots of the YouTubers actually wash the car with microfiber towels and save the soft mitts for wheels(?). Whats a reasonable polisher on the market at the moment. Any brands of soaps/cleaners/etc. that stick out aside from the normal parts store fare? I used PDP (Professional Detailing Products - local company) back in the day but there seem to be tons of newer brands out there. We have two dogs - what's the best gizmo for pet hair these days?

Direction appreciated.

Without clicking on the link, I know what it is, and no. Although that van would have been a dream when I was doing it!
