GTV6!

The challenger. Hailing from Deutschland. A car so bad that it is profanity. To quote Kid Rock, "it stinks in here cause I'm the.... E36 M3!"

Srsly? E36 M3. It's its own language for crying out loud and the wail of its inline 6 is equally aural.

Having you heard a GTV6? The GTV6 sounds sooo much better.
The E36 is a better car but I would rather have the GTV6.
The M3 wins hands down. Handles great, fast, reliable, looks cool, decent on gas, sounds awesome, what more could you ask for. In the spirit of full disclosure I do have a e36 M3 sitting in my garage....

I have heard a GTV6 at full song and it does sound awesome but It's still not the E36 M3.
I have never seen a GTV6 on the road. Evar. E36 M3's are everywhere, including just about any autocross or track day. Make of that what you will. I've already voted - there's an M3 in my driveway.

I see a couple driving around Huntsville all the time.

the E36 M is also 10 years newer...
Depends on what you want.
Reliable, quick, great handling do-it-all type car............E36 M3 no question.
Other than engine noise, I can't come up with a list for the Alfa. It looks like a Chevy Citation with a nicer grill/wheels to me.

I am sorry but the Alfa looks good. The BMW is typically boring German styling.
Can't we doctor this up a little more, maybe add some more cars? Volvo 780 Bertone, maybe a little XR4Ti, and a side of Mazda GLC with a swapped drivetrain? I'm thinking 1.8 litre BP with a turbo hanging off the side (F2T is just too obvious).

The fights are 1 on 1. Winner goes on, the loser disappears into forum obscurity. I am more than happy to use some of your suggestions for the next fight. That is how the E36 M3 got here.
While the GTV6 is cool, and makes great noises, it really isn't fair to compare it to an E36 M3. The cars just aren't in the same class.
0-60---- M3--- around 5.5, GTV6 around 8.0 (if you are lucky)
1/4 mile---- M3 around 14.2, GTV6 around 16.0
The M3 handles better, has infinitely better shift linkage, and is much much more reliable. It also has more room, better ergonomics, and.....well, this is just silly.
Compare the GTV6 to an E30 325i maybe, but the Alfa in this test just doesn't stand a chance.
.......and yes I own a E36 M3, but I have driven the GTV6 (and liked it)
I really like the GTV6, but on any track, or any street, or any dirt road, the M3 will slaughter it.
