TOMY baby, welcome to the new HO Scale overlords. The Max-G chassis is insanely quick as well.
David S. Wallens wrote: That is true. They race T-jets here in Daytona Beach. The Race Place, our local shop, can hook you up, including NOS chassis. Phone: 386-295-1371. Does this mean you guys want an HO story next?
You need to accept photos of some of our wilder HO cars we have buried on our shelves at home, with a short explanation of what's unusual about the car. Sort of like the Challenge participant rundown...

That was actually my favorite Aurora AFX car, even though the rear wing wasn't quite accurate.
I can't find a pic of the original 4-lane set my parents bought me for xmas, but I did find one of Tomy's repro of it..
My original Aurora set came with Oscar's McLaren, two Penske (Donahue) 917/30s, and a Shadow. Can-Am was the E36 M3 in 1974...
AutoWorld is still making some awesome stuff. Dirty General Lee?
They've also been diving heavier into the old A/FX stuff instead of just T-Jets, including the McLaren.
They do drag racers now too!
As for TOMY, they are absolutely on fire lately. Daytona Coupe?
Chaparral?
I still really love the old stuff though, especially the original Aurora A/FX line.

Vintage HO Scale goodness. These are some of my all-time favorites, the original Aurora A/FX line and Super G-Plus from the 1970's.
Porsche 917-10 Can-Am
Ferrari 312PB. Notice the open vents and the tiny mirrors!
McLaren F1
Lola T-330
Ferrari 512M, my first Aurora Sports Racer
Ferrari Daytona
BRE Datsun 240Z!
BRE Datsun 510!
Porsche 917 Gulf, my 2nd favorite one.
And finally, my most favorite slot car of all time. My father gave me one of these as my first slot car, and I still have it today. It has a totally built racing chassis now, but the body is still just as nice as the day I got it. No wonder I love my real Javelin so much

Yep. Maybe we can get more people participating in the conversation.

Speaking of slot cars, the Daytona Sports Car Club is hosting a slot car night at our local track on May 10. I wonder who put that together?

I still have running examples of the old AFX cars, including the RC Cola Porsche. I got it when I was a kid and drinking RC "chug-a-lugs." How many people remember those?
In reply to David S. Wallens:
Sweet! I'll have to make my Dad go over there. He has quite the selection of HO Slot Cars if you need photo subjects (coucghhinthintcough). Like two jewelry cases full of just T-Jets and A/FX's...
