We've probably covered this a dozen times here, so feel free to point me to an older thread to bump...... Or, tell me about home brew (think Challenge Budget) Turbo Miata recipes.
Ready, set, go.

I have one of the HP48's from whiskey_business. Been trying to get Dan to use it on something for years...

Not what I'd pick. They aren't cheap enough to make up for all of the inherent limitations, IMHO.
There are lots of build threads on miataturbo.net that go over all this stuff. I know the forum has a reputation for being surly and unwelcoming; but none of that matters if you're just reading and not posting, and there is a ton of good info there as well as a classifieds section that specializes in this stuff.
An aside, I was looking for NC turbo manifolds for reasons and found that you can buy BP exhaust manifolds that fit WRX turbos. WRX turbos are very cheap.
The NC manifolds all looked like front drive manifolds and I don't see them clearing the coolant pipe.

Thanks for that. I'll go do some digging & reading.

Thanks for that. I'll bid it up until it goes too high for a donor.
Following. Cheap boost capable engine management is the hold up on a lot of NA/T challenge builds in my head.
I, too have a whiskey business turbo. I plan on turboing an NA, then stuffing all that in an NB shell. There may be some relevant info in the thread.
