Looking for a set of 205/50/15 200 tread wear tires for one of my TR8s. The easy button would be RE-71s but they are back ordered until at least the end of the month. What else do you like for under $500 delivered? I also noticed that the old 205/60/13 Sumitomo HTRs on my TR7 coupe are finally showing their age. They have to be at least 10 years old now, and I don't want to run them thru the summer. Whats out there for 205/60/13? I remember reading some new tires are in the pipe line. There were also discussions about using the Legends cars spec Federal 595 non DOT tires, but I'm having a hard time finding them unshaved. Anybody got the name of a Northeast dealer that can mail me some Legends tires? If I can't find decent 13s, I guess I'll have to step up for a new set of 15" rims and tires. At least that will give me a chance to put on some decent brakes as well.
I'm with Gameboy, not a lot of options in that size. They are all sticky and will be good for street work.
I haven't even shopped for less than a 17" tire in 6-7 years.
Falken Azenis 615k+ and Hankook RS4 are also both decent, good enough to hold up well on track and not be too awful on the street. I just put the Falkens on my NSX and we use both of them on our lemons cars. There is plenty in that size out there. Hankook doesn’t have a 205, but has a 195 and a 225.
I second the Hankook RS4. Good, affordable alternative to some of the more popular options out there, and they seem to be wearing pretty well for me so far.
I have run continental extremecontact sport through two HPDE weekends at VIR plus a couple thousand mixed use street miles on a miata nicely. Not 200 tread wear but great in the rain.
I just got some Nitto NT05 on sale for under $100 per tire. Lots of audable feedback and very predictable at or beyond the limit.
The Vredestein Sprint Classic is available in 205/60-13 although about $100 more than your budget. A 220 rated performance tire.
Tirerack does now offer the BFG Radial T/A in 205/60-13 and is within your budget. Although not really a track tire it would be period-perfect for a TR7/8.
I'd done plenty of track and street driving with the Azenis RT615K. Still the best track tire we've used and they work great on the street too. Just stay out of the cold, but you're after a 200tw so you know that.

I've been driving these daily on my 2. Originally got them for the GTi as a track day tire in the event of rain so I wouldn't need a second set of tires. Been pretty good so far.
