I understand the reasoning, and don't blame Mazda for their decision. Won't try and pretend that I'm not disappointed, though.

Saw that car in person at the LA Auto Show last year. Absolutely beautiful. It's a shame that it won't ever make a racing grid outside of Gran Turismo (guessing they might throw it in the upcoming release).

Would have loved to see Mazda throw in a TCR contender. Some road bumps along the way and now COVID is the nail in the coffin. If anybody tracks their Mazda3, this would be cool inspiration to build it towards.

Fenders and bumpers would be a tough tackle but would look rad with something other than the TCR wing.

That is sad.

Can we ask the artist behind that render how the wing was supposed to mount to the rear glass?

it was actually built in real life as well.

looks like the mounts are sticking through the rear window and the wing has to be removed to open the hatch

Damn. It was the best looking TCR car by far.

It'd be nice if they could sell the one they already built to a team, but it's not worth it to homologate a one-off.

I think the class uses the same transmission, and the Mazda was going to race with a VW engine used in the Audi RS3 TCR.

Wow cool.

I really think it looks great. I just assumed it was a render. Now I want one.
