I'm trying to put together a budget Bilstein/sleeves setup for the NA.
I've gathered that i want/need NB top hats or similar.
Questions:
1) How much should i expect to pay for a used set of NB top hats?
2) I came across a set of ISC extended top hats, that seller says were modified to fit Koni Race shocks. Are these pretty much a no-go for my Bilsteins?
More questions probably to come. Trying to put together a competent setup for under $500. Will post results and a complete shopping list when done.
Ok with more googling, found that Koni shaft diameter should be 12mm, and Billies should be 10mm.
That pretty much sinks #2 if someone could fact check me.
I believe you are correct re #2.
Yep. That's ok. NB top hats should be cheaper anyways.

Is that what the top hats really go for? ClubRicer said more like $50. I don't want to insult him if i'm out of line.
Yea, after looking that price is high. You can get them brand new for $20 each. I can't remember what I paid from Mazdaspeed when I bought mine but it was probably less.

Yeah, but they are even worse cheapskates than this board .
Brand new from FM the conversion kit is a little over $200 so for a set in very good condition $100 doesn't sound too outlandish.
That's JUST the metal portion, though. Doesn't include any of the other things.
Don't know if the other stuff is swappable from NA to NB hats, and i'm guessing the stuff i'm working with has 140k miles on it.
Ah yea that's right. I used the FCM mounts so I just bought the metal part.
I'll just shut up now.
I think he and i are working out a deal, so it's all good.
Just man up and buy a real suspension.
What length springs should i be looking for? Got offered a set of 5.5" but that sounds pretty short.
