Maybe these were the engines from the drivers who really weren't trying very hard?

Lol we need these stuffed in uncomfortable places , like in the back of a Volkswagen ...

Which would have been every Infiniti equipped team, as the engines tended to blow up when pushed hard. Every team ended up running the Aurora engine after just a few years.
One of these would be great in the 1200 but the only real advantage over a SBC or SBF is the 100lb weight savings. The beefier trans would like make the actual weight savings 50-75lbs.
It's fun to dream though.
