Does the GRM braintrust have anything to say on it? I searched and came up with a thread that linked to tits (glorious, glorious tits), which while useful for other things, did not provide me with the knowledge I require about these trucks.

2004-2005 models. I know that for these two years, they were basically considered THE truck to have. I was first looking at replacing my 1993 tbi 350 K1500 with an Avalanche (Albertan's hate them since they aren't "real" trucks, and as such, they are cheap) until I came across some info about the Titan. Further research indicates all the truck magazines lauded them as being the best at everything in the 1/2 ton segment for the era.

I vaguely remember something about undersized brakes for serious towing, but other than that. No.

MPG is worst then most in the class but power is plentiful. Tiny ass oil filter for a 5.6 too..

I have a 2008 model and other than the bad gas mileage I love it. It gets 15mpg and that is mostly highway. It doesn't matter if you drive it hard or easy on the highway or in the city it still gets 15mpg. I have close to 100K on it with only maintenance and wear items.

Interesting on the mpg. After looking on fuelly.com, it appears that the Titan gets about the same mpg average as a f150 of the same era (~13.5mpg). It also appears that the chebby 1/2 tons STOMP them (15.5mpg average).

I didn't realize the mpg was so bad real world. 2mpg is huge in a truck.

Anyone know what towing mpg is at a sane speed (65mph)?
