That was one hell of a commercial(?). Needed more engine noise though.

You guys are such shiny happy people. Now I have to decide elise or NSX as the "attainable" dream car.
They're about equal in the break my neck looking at them. I once stood in the parkinglot of a bowling alley oggling an NSX and it made my heart ache.
poopshovel wrote: What's really sad is that "riced out" ones....well, not riced out really...how do I put this...I don't know, 'ragged out' ones with non-appropriate wheels and mirror tint show up on atlanta CL every now and then. They're still $20k.
Oh I agree, there was another one that came up in my search, asking more than the one I posted but was salvaged, had a few admitted problems as well as cheap aftermarket rims and "upgrades" bleh.
The styling, engineering, and history of the NSX just tick off all my personal boxes. If I was in the market, I'd gladly buy one and not really care if car "x" could beat me at a stoplight. It's not exactly what the car was designed for. The cost of maintenance compared to most of the competition is simply icing on the cake.
If you have a couple hours to kill and can get past the slightly douchey dot-com millionaire crap: Pulp Racing - NSX files
it's my dream car.... was when it came out, is now, probably always will be .... sad to say that my Integra is as close as I'm likely to come
Sounds good, driver sucks at manual
Watching him shift to first makes me cringe. PUSH HARDER!!!
Dodge Viper GTS (available in targa removable top as the RT/10) MSRP NEW 97/98 ~$150,000
You accidentally put the price for 2.
sad to say that my Integra is as close as I'm likely to come
This may sound strange but the 01 integra i helped my mom buy a few years ago was the car that made me realize i would actually love an NSX rather than just love to look at one.. Riddle me that.
Curtis73, I think you should get one. I feel the same way about the NSX, but cant afford one. I also feel the same way about 90s 3kgts (which invites more ridicule than honest feedback) and after many swaps, turbos, and years wrenching, i now feel like i would like to start with a sohc 12v base model rather than a vr4. Here comes the flames. Dont care. I think you should get the NSX and i should do my silly ideas too.
^I'm ashamed(?) to admit that i want a late 3000GT VR4 pretty badly as well...
Of course, i think i just want ALL of the 90s Japanese supercars, they're ALL so AWESOME.
The NSX is definitely one of "those cars" that just does it for most people (myself included).
Relevant to this thread, Edmund's Inside Line Long-Term Test Blog is looking at picking up a cherry 1st-year NSX for a year-long test. They're finishing up a factory Turbo look 911 Carrera now and have done a Ferrari 308, C5 Z06, and a 1.8L Supercharged Miata before. Great reads if you have a few hours...
I think I didn't impress the young lady in the grocery store parking lot the day I asked her: "How do you like the Corvette?"
She replied with "It's not a Corvette!"
Only then did I really take a look at the car and see that in fact it was an NSX.
Which surprised me since I'm actually quite the car guy. I guess I was looking more at her than the car.
I remember one time driving down highway 1 just sount of monterey and an NSX is in front of me. Well I don't care what type of car you drive I want you out of my way. The NSX looked so very balanced while my mercedes was screetching tire and almost driven off the road. I never did catch that guy in the NSX.
The reason they are so expensive is everyone wants one.
Dude buy the NSX. When you find that dream car you have always wanted and can truly afford it, you will wish every one else in the world had one too just so they could enjoy driving it as much as you do. Get the car.

Yes, please! I'd love to read those. Can I get a link, please? [Yes, I looked, but couldn't find it on their site.]

If there is one depressing thing about the NSX, it is a sad reminder of what cool cars Honda used to build...
That vimeo video is freakin awesome.

Sounds like it's a future plan.

Go to the first link I gave, the Long-Term test blog. There's pics of a White NSX filed under the 911 as the possible replacement.
That's how my SV650 purchase came to be. I wasn't thinking about motorcycles at all, and then someone posted an ad on here. On a whim I checked Craigslist for local examples, and there happened to be one available for the right price, and I just so happened to have the money. In the span of a week I went from not even thinking about motorcycles to having one in my possession. Best impulse purchase ever.

WHAT!?!?!?!?
They're going to buy my car? I guess it is time to inform the SOWMBO that we've got 1 year to save for and buy it.
You'll need to log in to post.
