The TR7 was a bit on the rough side. The rims were nice enough but the engine was probably the best bit of it.
They were SD1 3500s. He used to have a 5spd but must have got sold a while back. Both still had fuel injection too. One was 1980 and one was a late 1982 model.
I want those rovers, both of them.

I knew the engine was a kissing cousin to the Triumph engine. My mistake was assuming that the Ferguson tractor engine was from the same family. I'm pretty sure that the triple valve springs in my father's Vanguard were replaced with ones sourced from the local tractor dealer after a farmer friend looked under the hood and wondered aloud why we had gone to the trouble of putting a tractor motor in the car. He was the one who sent us to the tractor dealership for the parts. Maybe just a lucky happenstance that they worked.
