Test fit some new Eibach springs on the 325i. Shoot, my Turbines aren't even going the same direction!
Went to my parents house and looked at my Mustang....slowly sinking into the grass.....gotta get it out and get it running.
made and welded into place part of the flange extension for the lower edge of the windshield....it will cover the nasty gap that I accidentally made before
Winter wheels are coming off the RX-8 and new BFG KDW's are going on the summer wheels.
Tomorrow the Nissan pick up exhaust downpipe is being replaced with a new one that will be reinforced with pieces cut from the old pipe. This is the second one that I have had crack about 1 1/2" downstream from the collector. I plan to weld a double thickness in that area.
Played around with some vinyl and striping on the Abarth. Too sunny for decent photos, cloudy tomorrow = better shots. (Black is berkeleying reflective in the sun.)
Tore the forged crank out of the spare motor for the 340 build. Got that over to the machine shop. Got the 273 all set to pull out of there. Just need to separate the transmission from the motor but I ran out of time. I also got a list of all of the accessories I needed for the install. It's shopping time.
I'm getting closer. Hopefully in a month she will be back on the road where she belongs.
Today was gears day. and by gears day, i mean break rusty bolts all day and not get to the gears. Which makes tomorrow, gears day!!!!
I put a weed wacker motor in my Spitfire.......
I also disassembled the J type overdrive bits in an attempt to find out why the overdrive is very slow to disengage.
The O ring on the dashpot sleeve is berkeleyed. Hopefully this is the problem.
Yesterday I drove 75 miles to try to buy a project (78 MGB), but it was too rough. I ended up buying an AMF "Puffer" 12.5' sailboat with trailer, rigging, sails etc. It doesn't look like much of a project. I checked it out today and it appears to be all there. I'm looking forward to using it this summer.
Here's a short video of one just like mine.

I repaired my hoist to fix stupid (yes, you can fix stupid as long as it ain't too stupid). Then I diagnosed a wobbly wheel, and cleaned the garage. It's been a looooong winter, felt good to be back out there.
Oh yeah, I forgot, I took the trickle charger off my bike, put the seat back on and went for my first ride of the spring. Very relaxing!
Changed the oil on my RA65 celica - been a long time coming.
Yesterday I dropped the transmission on my SC300 chumpcar in order to replace the clutch for the third time in about 300 miles. Hopefully this will be the last time... Cleaned some Road Atlanta red clay off the front subframe while I was in there.
Checking and cleaning brakes on my Cobalt. Drivers side rear drum cover rusted on. Brakes aren't dragging, so luckily it's just the cover, passenger side still had 6/32" left so figure about same for drivers side.
Going to have to pick up some penetrating oil tomorrow and hope I can get a drum puller on loan from the parts store.
If I can't borrow a drum puller may have to buy a torch and see if a bit of heat helps me get it off.
GM dealer charged me $75 for a fuel filter for my Cobalt, went to local parts store and picked up a Wix filter for $29.99. Taking the GM one back tomorrow.
New project butted ahead of some others, was cutting lawn and belt for mower started flopping a bit, didn't come off track, hoping I just need to adjust the tensioner.
Adjusted the rear drums on the 924 to get ready for the track. Removed the exhaust clamps so that i can fit the proper rubber hangers on the 924 to keep the exhaust from banging on the torque tube and then fired some penetrating oil at it.
Gotta love it when the snow goes and the weather warms up.

Prepped the SR20 I bought 4 years ago from a guy to put in the G20 (bought with a manual transmission for $250 for both), bolted up the automatic transmission and got the bright idea to do a cold compression check before I put it into the car. Installed and hooked up the starter to my trusty jump box, got these readings, Cylinder 1 = 30 psi, Cylinder 2 = 40 psi, Cylinder 3 = 10 psi, Cylinder 4 = 180 psi. Will tear it down later this week to see what the damage is, hopefully it's just a bad head gasket. If not, I figure I can put together a good engine with the bits of the two that are sitting in the garage right now. Is it Race Wars week somewhere?
