What is it?

The FFR GTM, a C5 based supercar kit. And my first love from FFR. One day I want to build one, in this shade of green

Weld the entire floor pan of a Miata into something from the 60's to get vintage looks and modern capabilities. My version of the Wartburg. There's an Alfa on BAT that would do nicely. The chances of finding anything that has the same wheelbase and rocker flange to rocker flange width is just about nil, but this thread is about daydreaming, isn't it?

I'm with you. Those get prettier every time I see them.

Hey, NASA, can we have a Spec-GTM class? Pls?

I've two that have been floating around in my mind for years.

Idea 1. Take the old 86 Toyota 2wd truck and make an idiot 20's era speedster out of it.

Idea 2. Locost. I halfway hope the Miata develops sudden terminal rust so I can use it as a donor car.

Neither of these ideas are likely to ever happen. But I like to let the notion roll around my head.

^ Speaking of Locost's I would love to use the G13B 'Zuk motor in one of the caterham kits.

That is a factory five kit car, the GTM Supercar. I am thinking about having one built with a mild & reliable lsx, it uses the porsche g50 transaxle. They can be relatively affordable, leaving lots of cash leftover for driver education...

I want more Fiat content. That little yellow bugger is stuck in my head... I want it to be RWD and sitting on big fat Avon slicks.

I want to make one of these - oh and a locost and a Le Grand (thanks Per) with my triumph daytona running gear, finish 302 powered mg, make the bmw challenge car better looking and lower and fix broken pedal bracket so I'll have a clutch again.

Seriously (yeah, right!), this really IS the ultimate enabler thread for a gearhead.

In mine: converting an Aerostar into a real 4x4; finding a crewcab I-H 4600 for decent money, to build a flatbed carhauler with; building a Factory 5 Cobra; figuring out a 3 wheel version of a Plymouth Arrow pickup (think Dodge Ram 50) with rear drive being the single wheel; oh man, just lots of stuff.

Early Geo Metro with two 900cc 2-stroke motorcycle engines driving the rear wheels and a custom built widebody kit. All I need to do it is space, time and money.

1) one of the all aluminum chebby truck v8's into a miata, keeping most of the stock engine control and things like DOD for gas mileage and "civility"snicker. use as a badass DD. i've resisted the urge to research good motor/tranny combos for this purpose to keep it from becoming to much of a reality.

2)rescue toyzilla from my friends yard in FL, stick some sort of heroic mill in it, then run as many crapcan races as i can manage.

3) V4 motorcycle engine in a well prepped 914.

I've been wondering if there is anyway to make a reliable 300whp on the new Speed3 with out the engine going zoom zoom BOOM!

I'd also like to do some RPF1s, stickier tires, coilovers, sways on the MS3.

Next year I'm going to start looking for another E30. Only this time instead of OBD-I S52 and G260 trans.......................S54 + cams + 6spd and see if I can get a 300whp E30 track car that redlines at 8K+

My list is a little more... modest, I guess:

replace cooling system on 96 328i... if my dang radiator ever comes in. It's "in shipping" to the vendor, who can then get it to me.

hotchkis rollbars on 350z

regular maintenance on 350z and wife's Forester.

You can get 300wHP from an S52 w/ sunbelts, solid lifters, stronger springs, headers and a good tune. The ZF 5sp or better is essential - I'm suprised you didn't kill the 260 with the stock S52. They don;t last long at the track that way at all.

Guys in CM are getting 400 from an S54. Bone stock will net you 290-300. Its a suer sweet motor but I'd be spending for an LS in that price range if racing wasn't a concern.

1967 VW Beetle - Porsche killer.

big engine, dual webers, better trans - all stealth looking and not all flash and paint like the 1980's......

performance, handling, German, VDO, Hella, Recarro, getrag.........fun.

Chrome stock 911 wheels would be the only clue.

4.) Buying back my 69 olds delta 88 that I sold to buy my wife's wedding ring.

5.) Buying back my KLR 650 back that I sold to pay bills!!!

6.) Buying the A35 and M715 military vehicles, that again, I must have.

7.) Buying that old mid 70's honda goldwing so I can strip it down.

Oh man... let's see...

-Finish my 79 T/A that I've been working on, but along the way, install a T56, get some bigger wheels, better brakes and suspension, and a LS motor when the 400 blows up

-A Turbo early 90's Sentra SE-R

-A badass 70's short bed, 2wd muscle truck parts hauler

-Some sort of BMW with a turbo

-Get another 02-03 WRX, do a 2.5L swap, a honkin' hair dryer, and race it in every motorsport imaginable

-Some sort of turbo Dodge, especially a Shadow-bodied Shelby CSX

-Build a turbo Fox-body Mustang for drag duty

-A Volvo 740 Turbo wagon, and it has to be black

-Some sort of El Camino for the lady (yes, she wants one, and she wants it to be brown)

-A 87 Monte Carlo SS with a LS motor and a T56, set up to handle

And that's all in the past 5 minutes. This will change over the course of the day. All I think about is cars!
