I really never had a life plan past 21 so I don't plan to start now, I want to focus on how I live not how and when I'll die. Sure it's gonna leave a mess for those left behind but y'all will get some great deal on tools from my wife and/or kid :)
the older i get the more tools i get so that i can do more of what is needed here at home, while spending time with my kids and teaching them things. now i can walk out to the garage with my son and mount a new set of tires that came via ups. zero time invested in going to a tire shop sitting there reading a 6 month old car and driver for 3 hours instead of spending time with my kids. i can do pretty much anything here now and teach them how to do it too instead of farming things out.
where i find i'm getting more selective is in salvaging parts. i have better things to do than to snag every last good part off something i've bought for just the drivetrain, and while it ends up costing me a few dollars in the long run to order a bumper bracket or windshield, it leads to way less time spent doing something i don't want to do. i need front and rear glass for my truck, i let good ones go with my old parts truck just because it would have taken several hours to get the old ones out, and who knows if they would come out in one piece. instead, i take that time, make money, and when i paint my truck i'll get scratch free new glass.
also coming to the realization that i don't need 10 project cars.
