Nope it's not them, it's US! We've learned how to extend razor life through any number of threads on here.
Please, I've been not shaving for a hell of a lot longer than being hipster was a thing.
Stop giving hipsters credit for things, they need to have no reasons to exist.
I with Grizz on this ... I've worn a full beard since 1969 ... very long at times, and very short at times ... but I haven't seen my chin or upper lip 44 yrs
I had a beard or goatee for 9 years then I got a new job two months ago and I have to be clean shaven:/ I mis my beard, shaving sucks
I'm gonna side with the hipsters on this one. This is like a McDonald's exec blaming fit people for poor food sales. In fact, after reading this line:
Jason Notte, MSN Finance Douche said: "Hope you really like that handlebar mustache and set of pork-chop sideburns, Mr. Vest-Clad Washboard-Playing Mixologist, because they're killing multinational corporations' bottom lines."
I am tempted to grow a full Bin Laden beard just out of spite.
Too few of them to be significant, by my guess.
The absurdly high razor blade prices are far more likely the problem.

Exactly. That is what drove me to get a safety razor. Its just like the movie companies saying they are hurting because people are not going to the movies anymore. No crap dude, ticket prices are too high.

...and cinematic poo to quality ratio has reached an all time low
See: all of Nick Cages work since the new millennium

Yep, I've gone to store brand or other super cheap 2 blade razors myself. I can notice a difference, but not enough to care about. It seems more logical to blame overpriced razors for hipster beards, if "blame" is appropriate for something I don't really care that much about.
From here: http://dadsaretheoriginalhipster.tumblr.com/post/3168331452/your-dad-had-a-beard-before-you-did-it-wasnt-a
"Your dad had a beard before you did. It wasn’t a trend or a fashion statement, it was pure function and unbridled masculinity. With his beard, he could fall a tree without picking up an axe. With your patchwork beard, the only thing you can do is attract ironic women who only like beards because they’ve been brain washed by PBR into thinking they’re attractive. You want to know how your dad got your mom? The power of his beard lured her in and then his silver tongue made her stay. So hipster, stop trying to grow your face in, you’re never going to kill it like dad."

That and an old school safety razor just shaves better. If you are brave enough a straight razor will leave you whisker free for days. I pay $1 for a pack of ten safety razors and $20 for a puck of soap. The razor and brush set wasn't cheap but it was a gift, but I spend less than $25 a year on shaving supplies. Works for me. Heck, my wife has started using my spare safety razor for her legs and loves it.

You use fancier soap than I do!
I use a double edged safety razor, I get 50 blades (2 short of a years worth!) for less than what 8 of the 5 bladed monstrosities cost.
And get a better shave to boot.

My wife likes the sandalwood soap from the mall store, so that is part of my Christmas presents each year. I'd probably be using hand soap if left to my own devices.
Yup after reading on here and badger and blade I picked up an old fat boy and haven't looked back. Best 5.00 I have ever spent and it saves me about 30 a month in blades. One of those and a pack of feathers is heaven.
It's bullE36 M3, the military alone should keep razor companies bottom lines looking pretty nice.
But you can tell they are "hurting" they've even jacked up the prices of disposable razors. I've since resorted to the two blade and barbasol. Saves me money and more effective.

I will actually go one better on being a super cheap ass. I usually had my hair cut every 2 weeks at about 20.00 a time. I became fed up with it and picked up some oster classic 76's. I haven't step foot in a barber shop in 3 years. after the 160 for the clippers it saved me about 1300 and the convenience of cutting my hair before work if i think its shaggy and these clippers will never die or get dull like the cheap ones at target or walmart.

I just let my hair go from "almost a buzzcut" to "almost an anime character" in between cuts
It doesn't take me long though.
