Swapped the in and out lines on my remote oil filter system and siezed the motor up. Lots of go fast/ turn fast/ stop fast goodies on it. Contemplating another Mazda Mx-6 or a new motor. There isn't a whole of option for a motor swap.

I have never been disgusted with my self as I am now. This was a mistake that never should have happened.

Both are pretty close and relatively cheap.

E36 M3 happens. Everyone berkeleys up every now and again. Any junkyard in your area with a long block worth buying and swapping. Good luck with whichever route you take; don't beat yourself up over it

Lots of junk yard motors around. If I go the motor route it may take over a year to put it in. I don't need it as a DD so I would take my time and rebuild it.

So many options to look over. I really love the platform but I might start looking into something else all together.

I'll offer some sympathy - it's not your fault. The system should have been designed with different fittings, different colors, something inherent to differentiate between in and out. It's called mistake-proofing, because we all have momentary lapses in concentration.

Depends on when it siezed. If it was just idling and stopped, then maybe a new set of bearings will fix it. Now it were at high rpm and there are new ventilation holes in the block. that is another story. Is it worth pulling the pan and taking a look.

KLG4 is the way to go. It seized doing about 25 went chunk chunk seize. The tires locked up and I was half way out into a major intersection. It doesn't even turn over.

After conferring with the house boss I'll just be parting the car out. Her exact words were " Why do front wheel drive again when you can get a real car?"

Headers, MSD 6Al dig never used), ported KLG4 intake, KL47 TB, most of my parts are suspension and brakes. I have a MS6 brake upgrade SS braided lines( 7 lines all together i had one line go bad and had to buy a whole set), megan rear lateral (never installed with King6 sway bar adapters)and trailing arms, tociko blues and ksport springs with new mounts and bearings , rr motor mounts inserts ( rear hasnt been put in yet, front has less than 500 miles) corksport bronzeoil shifter bushings ( shifter side never used because i did the civic sts, trans side less than 500 miles), Drag DR-38/blue stripe 17" x 8" 35 or 37 offset rims with worn out tires ( was going to by some nittos this weekend) rear strut bar, 626 rear sway.

Other stuff I have is brand new head gaskets, head bolts and valve cover gaskets. blue led modded gauge cluster. relatively new non-abs master cylinder and brake booster, LCAs with less than 500 miles, brand new in box timing belt and tensionor kit, 2 new slim rad fans with less than 300 miles, brake portioning valve, rad fan tremo control switch. Also have a new remote dual oil filter kit with less than 20 min run time :)

The car handled really good and stopped better than most vettes.

Not to make OP feel worse, but HE could have done exactly what you are talking about.

Blue painters tape and a sharpie.

I've got each in the garage for that exact purpose.

Sorry to hear about the mistake!

Kudos to you for owning up to the mistake. There's not enough of that in the world today.

Kudos! She sounds like a wise woman and an asset to your household.

Condolences about the car. We've all been there on some scale. Try to look at it as an opportunity if you can. Strong drink may help that.

Can you email me what you want for the 6AL, dual filter kit, MS6 brake upgrade to start? Might want more, have to take stock of what i've got.

What headers were they?

I'll see my email on Monday, we can talk then if you send me one.

It's a sickening feeling isn't it? in my 24 years of driving I have killed one car. Even the one I totalled, kept running long enough to get me home (with no coolent from a holed radiator) That one, it left me stranded on the side of the road.. was the worst feeling yet.

Uh not to make you feel worse but I've never installed one of those kits. Any tips to not making the same mistake?

If it makes you feel better I toasted wheel bearings, an LSD, and a viscous transfer case by adjusting my parking brake too tight eons ago.

To not make the same mistake just take you time and double check. I had it all installed once and it worked fine with the exception of a pin hole manufacturing defect. I sent the first one back and installed the second in under 5 min because it was all pre-done. When I put the new one one I rushed and was over confident. Though I grabbed the right house for the right port. I was wrong.
