I am officially requesting a reservation to be your first guest when you get the first one finished.

I don't see the question.
The r22 paint. They say install dome get $8,000 paint gun and spray on top. Kinda scared about that aspect
I can build - I can't paint
It's not a product I am familiar with. I suspect it would be significantly easier to hire someone to spray it. Worth it if it doubles the lifespan of the skin.
I'll bet it is too thick to go through standard sprayers.

No problem in hiring someone. I believe in it's better to pay Simone who knows what they are doing
do you think hoise painter is who should be contacted? I mean who else will have high powered paint spray right ?

Build time for domes is 10 weeks
March 15 order + 10 weeks. In that time I need to work on platforms etc
you don't want to be here summer time - albeit not muggy like where you are. Labor Day opening would be ideal$$$$ for business
my offer will stay. Any and all GRM stay for free

I may take you up on this for a night. I am kicking around the idea of something similar out here.
In reply to mr2s2000elise :
No. Not a house painter.
You probably need a painter who is equipped to do commercial and industrial painting.
Check with the vendor for their recommendations.
In reply to mr2s2000elise :
I'm pretty used to the heat.
Actually, I may want to come see you when the build is finished, and then come a second time at Labor Day.
We may have a lot to talk about...
In reply to SVreX (Forum Supporter) :
that'd be so cool. cruise around Big Bear Lake as a victory lap afterwards!
This is going to be epic. I vote for a GRM meeting where a bunch of us just take over the place for a weekend and toss money in a hat for mr2. I know we stay for free, but that doesn't stop us from pitching in for some beverage money for our host.

I'm open to this idea. Would be a good opportunity to learn about these in great detail.

Pick a long weekend, and have a bunch of GRMers come...
I love this. Long trip from PA, but they have airplanes these days.

I'm a bit skeptical of that paint. Challenge anyone selling it to paint a frying pan with it, set it on a stove burner at the hottest setting, leave it a minute there, then see if the salesman is willing to put his hand on it.

I might be available for this lol

I think that is well beyond the intended purpose of that stuff.
That's how R value is measured though (roughly)
I think the key here is the word 'equivalent'.
So here’s a question is Joshua Tree near Landers? I have family there and a steamer trunk of our grandmother’s to be delivered there and a road trip is a possibility.
To be fair, that test may exceed the paint's maximum temperature. But they're claiming it's about the same insulation value as:
You should be able to do some pretty dramatic demonstrations with it, well beyond the "paint an egg, dunk it into water, and show it's not hard-boiled after 10 minutes." Like painting a paper cup with it, freezing the cup, then pouring boiling water in and having it not melt the frost on the outside.

A hand on a hot frying pan??
A heat source, an insulation material, and a temp measurement on the other side.
