I had to repair a gate hinge today. Pulled it off, cleaned it up, clamped it in the vice then welded it up. Nice job if I do say so myself. All was good until I loosened the vice and caught the hinge in my right hand. When will I learn?

My friend bought a 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback this weekend. I'm fascinated by it in a "Hey, this is a cheap E36 M3box of car." I also kind of want to bolt the 15x8s with 225 Rival S off my Miata onto it and drive it everywhere at WOT.

One Lap Of America in a CVT Mirage. All grip, no power. I will credit my friend, at least he bought it in bright metallic orange, instead of black or silver or white.
I did it. I broke down and bought a flavor injector.
I feel dirty. They're cheater tools, not for real chefs.
But unfortunately, for brining big thick hams, they're a necessity to prevent sour bone.
Speaking of, my first raw ham went into brine today, 9/24/18 at 1130am.

Is that a good or a bad thing? Also, apparently these things are the same weight as a Miata, but with a massive 1.2L inline-3 making a thunderous 76hp.

I thought I had a mouse under my old VW in The Batcave until I got up close and saw it was not a mouse, but a huge spider chillin' with its legs tucked under, like a cat. It saw me approaching and stood up and waddled away.
You stay outta my way and I'll leave you alone, spider dude.

I like knowing that a new car makes less power than my single cam Saturn.

It makes slightly less power than my old EA82 Subaru did. But it also weighs 500-600lbs less than my Loyale 4WD Wagon.

good/bad I guess it depends on whether you think spewing out 500+ words about: OneLap, Smart cars, $10k prius, !yay! orange, ohnoImthatguy, maybethatsok
is better than a funny GIF about deciding not to do that

Ok I looked it up, that's a fair bit lighter than me car too. My old high school machine tool instructor has a 2014 Mirage. I want to challenge him to the slowest drag race now.

I think I ran a 22 second quarter mile with my Quantum. Bonus: Went through the traps at the top of fourth gear, it was geared short enough that 75ish mph was around 4000rpm in 5th, and the engine was pretty much dead at 5000 (also below 3500ish).
At the time, my other car was a low 14 second car, running through the traps at about 100mph, in third. So I guess the VW was the more fun car to drive because I got to shift it 50% more often AND I got to experience over 50% more time on track.
I'm going to try to speed rust a gusset welded into a 1947 bicycle so that it matches the patina better.
I want to build a stanced ratty EJ1 Civic...
I was hoping to buy a DX trim level EJ1 parts car next year with a tan interior to steal parts for my SMF build so maybe build off of that.

Pix?
Since this is now the start of my 3rd week of living in the basement of the office, I realize that, technically, I work from home. Hahaha...sigh.
I've spent far too many hours turning a free MR2 spyder seat into a shop chair, and it's still not done, and I don't really need a shop chair.
I want to buy a Raptor style grille for my 07 F250:
But I want to switch the F and D around so the grille reads DORF instead of FORD.
I think it would be hilarious and I hope it would piss off the redneck/brodozer crowd because I really DGAF.
Lately I have been looking at all the E36 M3 that owns me. Been really overwhelmed by it all. So I pulled the trash can to the workbench tonight and...
The confession part is that i didn't even try to sort most of the E36 M3 on the bench. It just went to the trash.
The bench is 17 feet long. Ive been working on the floor.
I was about to pull the front end apart to diagnose what I suspected was a rapidly failing CV axle or wheel bearing when on my way home the car decided it had gone far enough.......loose lug nuts. I’m such an idiot. Fortunately nothing was really damaged and the rotor just scored the inside of the wheel a bit as I was going slow.

I think you should make it say D G A F. How hard could it be to fab up a G and an A?
