Apparently one of my major problems with people, in general, is that I cannot stop myself from assuming that everyone I interact with has the same proper sense of propriety as I have. And I am constantly getting bit in the azz by it.

Great advice from a former boss…

Step one in collaboration = make sure everyone is watching the same movie.

Sounds like they were watching “Anything Goes” and you were watching “There’s a Right Way & There’s a Wrong Way”.

On Saturday it was warm enough to have the sunroof open. This evening we're expecting 15-20cm of snow. Can the weather please make up its damn mind?

This is particularly vexing for we Miata drivers...

It can be snowing and I will drive with the sunroof open. The only reason I will not drive with the roof open on a convertible is that snow gets messy. Otherwise, the top is either open or down.

Office is still out of control right now. I cannot buy ammunition in my own state soon without a piece of paper the state has no way of getting to me or desire to get to me. I have like 5K rounds of 9 and 223 left and that is like a few months for me if I am shooting in comps.

Also the beetle took a hit today and a few days ago as well with the wife not in it in her office parking lot. Both bumpers need to be replaced and it needs a solid go through. Asked her what she wants to do and the answer was lets replace it. Also someone scrapped up my STI a little bit as well.

No big deal, what do you want to replace it with. Her answer was a Hellcat. She has a lead foot and no qualms about showing people that. This is gong to end in disaster.

Rant on:

People suck....

Wife and I are moving from our house to another city/state that we now both have jobs in.  We drove the 3.5 hour trip back to our house we are moving from, and rolled in at 10pm Friday night to find this:

Back door kicked in... one of the Tv's, the PS3, the Wii, and a couple of the wife's necklaces... gone.  Waited for the cops, got to bed about midnight, and spent the rest of the weekend working on installing a new door.

It was probably inevitable with the house sitting empty during the week and the good news is that, the hard or impossible stuff to replace was still there. Also the temps were in the mid 30s so it wasn't TOO bad having a door sized hole in the house. Need to go back and pull the new door out again so I can rework the 100+ year old foundation to mate to the new door frame.

*sigh*

People suck.

:Rant off

wait for the new shelby GT500? I know you have the viper, so not sure if you prefer Mopar, but the gt500 is looking good

One was an antique set of pearls she got for graduation, but the other two were recently purchased.  All of her heirloom, and one off pieces were stashed else where and untouched.

Few things are as scary as a home break in. Sorry to hear about it. Glad it was the old house. Good luck getting it all straightened out.

Also if you have payment methods stored in your PlayStation you might want to deactivate your ps network account or something.

Sorry to hear about the break in. I am sure you have already thought about this, but often the burglars come back after a few weeks to snag the replacements that were purchased with insurance. If you are not going to be in the home it may be a good idea to ask your neighbors tp keep an eye out for you.

Thanks, like I said it could have been worse... the other real valuables have been moved, and really the worst part is the inconvenience of fixing the door.

The funny thing is the PS3 was a replacement for the old Fat one that finally died. I didn't even have any game saves on it yet.  Good thinking on the account payments, I'm sure the info is out of date but I will check it.

We had friend come get the mail in such, we told her to go head and check inside the house from time to time. However I think she felt weird being in our house with out us there, and had no reason to go around to the back door. No idea how long it was hanging open.

The friend is now going to do a better check...

My boss was just showing me his setup with one of these yesterday:Ring Video Doorbell

Sounds like you can tune them for motion and you'll actually get a notification on your phone when it sees motion. It has intercom capabilities as well. In this case, if it was only on the front door it might not have helped as much, but still. something to consider...

My rant:

People with gas vehicles filling up at diesel/gas pumps because they are on the end, closest to the exit/entrance, and most convenient.

Pretty sure the reason they are setup that was is to those of us with large trucks don't have to manuver so much!!

Plus you know, there are other gas only pumps open, but you take up the only one that I can use...

The newly-purchased QX4 needs new tires eventually as the ones currently on it have plenty of tread but are definitely old and dry-rotted. Works for me as I want on/off-road tires on it anyway for what we plan to use it for. Trying to save some money, found as set of Wrangler AT/S tires on rims with the right lug pattern (QX4 shares the 6x5.5 that 1/2-ton GMs use). Had hoped that I could swap the tires from the rims they're on over to the factory rims on the Infiniti- but while the Infiniti has 245's on it now (which are the stock size) the rims themselves are only 8" wide- so putting the 265 AT/S's on them doesn't seem like it's going to work. Can still likely use them (once I replace the one too badly-worn tire with a good used one), but the GM rims (with no center caps) won't look as good on it IMO as the stock Infiniti ones.

Just won't be as inexpensive in the end as I'd hoped- I'd hoped to basically swap the tires between rims and turn around sell the tires the QX4 came with along with the GM rims to recoup some (or all, if I do a good job on the sale) of the cost of the AT/S's. Don't really want to sell the stock QX4 rims- though if the GM ones work well I suppose I could (tempting to keep them around to put more highway-oriented tires on to swap on, but that seems unnecessarily complex).

that definitely sucks.   my sister has a similar door on her basement.  First thing she did when she bought the house was to hang up *used* silhouette targets on all the doors.   serves two purposes:

  1. blocks view
  2. says "i will berkeleying shoot you"

I am done with Ford at this point; except for trucks.

The dealers around here are terrible and honestly I have been asking to get a few cars from them in the past and they have they have been dicks about things.

I'm fairly certain that everyone with a loud exhaust who drives down my street never learned that one difference between a bicycle and a car is that you don't have to keep pushing the pedal over and over to do 25 in a car. I know this is GRM, but honestly, who does throttle inputs like that?
