Now part of the annual inspection.

I understand the need, now if you have an easy way to get it off you could be rich.

you know that article contradicts itself. It says that the windows have to let in 70% of the light, but at the end it quotes the current law as allowing only 30%?

Florida Highway Patrol cars are so dark you have no idea who/ what is inside. Guess that's the idea.

Not contradicting, just using different terms. It sounds like the windshield and front side windows can only have 70% tint while the rear windows can be 30% at the darkest.

I like being able I see the faces of other drivers, so I support this also.

Edit: so I can make eye contact with the person in control of the vehicle

I do not support this. Many drivers are ugly motherberkeleyers who's faces should remain hidden.

For the children.

I like being able to look through other cars to see what's on the road ahead of them.

They need to be able to see all the guns and cash laying on the rear seat so they can confiscate them.

that makes more sense. In NJ you cannot have any tint forward of the driver's shoulders. Anything behind that, you can paint black if you want

NY car is unlimited rear window, 70% side. Truck, van, SUV, is 70% front side, unlimited rear side and rear. Wagons and hatchbacks are a gray area over where they fall.

Because every day when I am at work, I have to walk up to occupied vehicles that often have all their windows closed. They may have been in an accident, but sometimes they are having a medical emergency, a psychiatric emergency or, increasingly common these days, they have overdosed. They are frequently agitated and often angry or confused. 100% of the time, I am completely unarmed. Anything that limits my ability to see what's happening on the other side of that glass is detrimental to my safety and delays emergency care for the person or people inside.

Agree, I want to know if that driver waiting to pull out of the side street is even looking my way.

when I was younger, I wanted heavily tinted windows. Now that I am older, I think they are right up there with Vanity Plates and huge rear wings.. useless. Unless you live way down south where the sun destroys everything, there is no non-medical reason to have heavily tinted windows

I can't imagine how scary it is for a cop to walk up on an iffy fully tinted vehicle that they pulled over.

When I was younger, I thought tint was silly. Then I moved to Nevada, where heavily tinting your windows means your car is only 130F inside, instead of 145F (when parked).

That's why, if you ever get pulled over it goes a LONG way toward getting off with a warning to immediately roll down all windows, turn on interior lights, and show your hands. A happy/relaxed cop is in a much better mood than the one who is tense and keyed up having to tap on your limo dark window not knowing if the person inside is just private or about to get on the evening news.
