Sold the Mini a few weeks ago. Awesome fun car and I enjoyed it, but I found I spent a lot more time riding motorcycle than I did driving it and it was nearing the point where it really needed a repaint and I wasn't wanting to spend the money to do it. Painting it would mean I'd have to keep it forever to get my money even partway back. So it moved on (watch for it around Hagerstown, MD).

I tried changing my avatar...uploaded a new one but the old one is still there. Help!

Part of the goal for buying the Mini and ditching my restored Fiat Spider was to get something the Mrs and I would both drive and enjoy. While she really liked the Mini, it was a bit too small and underpowered to make her comfortable. We looked at a lot of other cars at shows and kept coming back to the same one we both liked: Ford Falcons. Owning a pickup made the year I was born, she thought getting a "Year Of Birth" car for her would be cool and sort of round out the collection, so to speak. So, if you know anyone who has a 1969 Falcon coupe that DOES NOT need paint or bodywork, let me know. Don't care much about the rest of the car, I just don't want to have the paint and rust repair expense. BTDT. I search Craigslist daily as well as eBay so I'm looking for ones that aren't maybe advertised. If you don't know, they look like this:

Not the best looking one but photos of these are about as hard to find as the real thing. '69 has square taillamps and these small side markers. Vinyl roof is a big negative. 302 is a big plus. Modified to some degree is ok provided it hasn't been hacked up. Price range $5-7k.

I figure if anyone can help find one the collective on this board can.

Late Falcons seem to have disappeared. Even as a kid (and a Ford fan) I don't even remember seeing many back in the 70's. I see far more early ones out there now.

The red one looks terrific. Love the interior! dang it - now I'm looking - reminds me of my youth.

You don't ever see them because they weren't popular when new. On top of that, the Nova it copied was better looking, IMO. Even more so, Ford put all of it's money into the" pony car" and NASCAR wars with the Mustang and Torino, the rest be damned.

Ugh, bright red, aka "resale red". No thanks. When you've owned as many red cars as I, this isn't a selling point. Personally, I think these cars look best in darker colors. There's a really nice one on eBay in Florida that is the unfortunate color of Bland Beige. I was working to buy a really gorgeous blue/white one in Minnesota but it got sold before I could consummate the deal.
