From a recent listing:
I bought this car with the intention on putting a lot of money into it. I really don't want to get rid of this car or my 2000 Civic that I have a lot more money into. But I have been in 2 car accidents now that have made me incapable of working on my cars, so it is best that move away from the car thing. I know after selling my cars I will regret it, but for now this is for the best. "
I swear the next time I list a toaster, I will open with:
"I had a happy childhood, and enjoyed long hikes in the woods with my Father. My favorite food is pizza, but I do love other foods such as steak and french fries. I guess my earliest recollection of having toast was at summer camp in 1973. It was a balmy day and I was wearing white..."
In reply to pinchvalve:
See now, the problem is that you can't very well cook pizza, steak of french fries in a toaster, so what good is it?
I've been guilty of the long story. It was for a 1991 GTI I bought from the original owner. Had a guy email me just to bitch about my story and that he had a "better" car he was selling for cheaper.
I made sure I emailed him back when I sold mine for more than what I had it listed for and his car was still for sale

I cook steak in my pizza oven. Use a pie tin or some aluminum foil to keep it clean.
Sometimes a long explanation means the person listing it is an old guy, and I like buying stuff from old guys. The ones where a girl is selling something on behalf of her boyfriend who is in jail are always funny too.
Come September, I'll be living in a dorm room. I will absolutely attempt to cook steak in a toaster. I'm also going to try a waffle iron, my theory is that it's like a George Foreman Grill.
I would hate to see the grease at the bottom of a toaster after a couple steaks, the fire would likely be quite impressive. Be sure to record your experiments, for science.

Been there done that, you want the toaster oven. My cheap Walmart model stashes perfectly in a cheap locking 2 drawer filing cabinet.

Aluminum foil or a small pan. Nice and easy.
If you're gonna try running a steak through a 2 slot toaster, it goes without saying it would need to be done sitting on a cookie sheet with the crumb tray removed.

It is, but it's a pain in the ass to clean afterwards. You can only do thinner steaks in one too.

Electric skillet works alright. If you're in college you wont have the money for good cuts of meat anyway.
And instead of draining off the fats and juices, the waffle iron collects them so they can vaporize back into the food for extra juicy tasty fattiness.
Toaster ovens are pretty great. Using the broiler and learning how to preheat, one can accomplish great things.
