We have been messing with the tire wear series car. At this point it's between the Miata (494p) and the GTR (unlimited, it's the 09 Spec V I think, it's the last street car in the Nissan dealership). The GTR is pretty crazy (maybe too crazy) but it WILL burn through tire and fuel. We need to decide on any limiters if we go with the Miatas.
We might play with RUF's, and for a goof I put out a 400pp, CM tire, Suzuki challenge, just to mess with some small cars (maybe we can try a small track like London with these).
At this point the next series is looking like:
We could go either way with what day each is on, but if anyone has a preference (e.g. wants to do long races, but can't race on Wednesday)
Some fun testing tonight. I am in favor of another Coffee Car or Buzz Box series at about 400pp on CM. They were fun. The Miata's at around 500pp are a blast and seem to wear tires fast enough to have a pit stop series with them.
I agree with Argo. I also think the RUF series may drive more people away than actually promote fun.
For next Sunday. We will be testing the:
"484 five doors or more" series.
As the title sais cars with five doors or more. Tuned to 484 pp. Mini vans and station wagons are encouraged.
I went looking in my inventory and found I have at least 6 cars that qualify and I will have to look at a couple more that I could not tell.
Street cars only no race cars or prototypes.
Comfort soft tires
Trans and power (with the 10% reduction rule) adjustments only to 484 pp. No other adjustments allowed*
I am hoping that this would work well as a companion series to the Suzuki series.
This series comes from the testing of the max tune odyssey and the awd Toyota wagons we were running. They were very equal using these tuning regulations. I also found the alteza wagon to Be a fun contender. Although it was very loose on the power. I am hoping that at this pp and these tires it will promote equality between the various drivelines that you can get.
I think we should use the Miata's not the GTR. I also think we should pull the RUF series for now and do somthing else.
Thank goodness. Those RUFs were more prestige than good cars to race with. The Miatas are also much better than the GTR with it's funky handling. Still, running 90s Japanese tuner cars and using at least 3 different ones will bring in some variety you guys were talking about.
Regarding the the Suzuki series: You might consider opening that up to other city cars, it seemed like the Swift was a bit of ringer. Maybe a Really Small Bore Cup? City cars are defined as under 660cc. Maybe bump that to 1L?
Also, we might want to test a few more rally tracks with those. That might an equalizer for the MR and FF vs the 4WD.
I was going to suggest opening up the suzuki series to all kei-class cars as well. I like the 1000cc suggestion as well as including rally courses over the course of the season.
Is there going to be a "spirit of the rules" kind of thing as the city cars are not sports cars. I think there may be some ringers in the 1l or less that are sports cars. This would open it up to the fiat, and others yes?
I like throwing in some different tracks like dirt tracks. Dirt tracks don't have pits so the Miata series would have to stay on pavement.
I like opening up the Kei car series to others besides the Suzuki's. Might need some testing but I ran the S800 Honda and some Daihatsu something or other. They both seemed competitive but not ringers.
Been looking at the 484 cars and I think we are going to have to put a price limit on these. There are some Audi, BMW, lancia, Renault that are probably ringers. I also am wondering about the higher end subarus.
I came up with 32 cars for the 484 series but I think we will probibly eliminate 8 of them. There are a couple that need weight removed to make the pp. Basically a car has to start at 360 pp to get to 484. The minimum pp that a car can get to 484 with weight reduction is about 340 pp.
I also like the idea of the Kei car series, they were a lot of fun to play around with the other night. Is that full tuner or more Muscle car tuner?
The way we ran them on we'd was full tuner, but I mentioned to Dean that MC tune would make them easier to test. Full tune might encourage variety. Something to decide.

This is my initial list I am thinking of putting a price cap on this list with maybe a couple exceptions. I purchased all these cars we need to test a bunch of them to see if there are any ringers or any that are real dogs.
thx for the list dean , i will grab em all and do some testing tonight and post my results . had great time on wed, had a blast trying to chase Argo down in the miata.
With the city cars I liked full tuning BUT it could be limited to the preset race soft or face hard setting. I found this greatly improves the way these cars handle, keeping them fun, but would limit the amount of tuning available so people would not have to spend alot of time tuning.
Another thing. If we run the Miata's some of us should post the car we are driving with the tune. Newer people can then jump in and have a decent baseline to start with. Many of us that ran the spec Miata's have a full season of tuning and tweaking of our cars so we would have an advantage.
My NB Miata tune is just the standard race soft or hard suspension (depending on track) with diff and brake adjustments. That is all I ran in the last series.
