I should be on about 9:15 eastern tonight testing the gt series cars. I may be off line for a while working on various cars to see about a performance level to tune the cars to but after that I will be testing at GVE

Wow, you guys have been running for a long time.

A non tuner Series I have is a stock Alfa Romeo (FF) GT 3.2 V6 24V '04 with SH tires to test against failboat's FF suggestion. No oil change.

I will not be around tonight (maybe a little but probably not) so Dean will be covering.

I did try out the Nissan mm-R Cup Car a bit. It's very much a front driver (but some people like that, I am not judging ). There is no trail braking tricks to be used. It should be very bulletproof in traffic though, and it is small, so certainly worth a test with a crowd.

I also looked at the Challenger race car (not really for this season). I didn't realize I had not looked at it or the z/28 race car since GT5. Still the same though, the z/28 tops out before the Challenger starts PP wise (I know the z/28 was for TransAm, the Challenger must have been for a production series or something?). The Challenger has some potential as a spec car though with the Real stick axle suspension tune in it. It has a good amount of room for power mods also. I think it tops out somewhere over 700hp.

You know...I know I suggested the mm-R. But if we want something a little faster that we dont have to throw parts at

Honda Integra Type R DC5 Touring Car '04
Its a premium model and you can paint and swap wheels.
Oil Change only. Just like the Elise race car, No tuning, arrive and drive
484 pp / 313 hp / 950 kg

if you squint or have had enough miller high lifes it sort of looks like a Camero.

Ran stock C7 vettes on SS tires with some friends the other night. Damn good fun, fast, and very balanced on those tires. Dean seemed to like them too.

In reply to failboat: I like your suggestions since they're Race cars. The Camaros aren't all that great (except for maybe the 60K Challenge), so a car doesn't have to look like it, the Corvettes are where it's at (GM cars, that is).

Don't forget to buy my Alfa Romeo!

In reply to failboat: It's my opinion that your Integra Touring car doesn't handle well enough to run as a Showroom stock series, it needs to be one of our tuner series. The Nissan mm-Cup car is much better, but is too slow to run as our 4th series, IMO. Dean or Sauce didn't test these, just me.

Great testing tonight. Small crowd but it meant many short races. Tested all the options of the Autobacs Garaiya and since sauce has a bit more pull in choosing things if we run it it will be at 499 pp with the full lightening set up.

Also tested a bunch of the GT cars. There is about twenty cars that I started with. The tuning is done as follows. Sports soft then tune to 525 pp. This is done by the following order. For cars that are under the pp you add lightness first then add power adders. For cars that ate over like the 599 you de-tune it by taking power out with the limiter up to 90% then add weight.

The only other thing you can add is a transmission. With this formula most of the cars were with in about a second of each other. There is at least one ringer and possibly two that will either be hit with a pp adjustment or just eliminated all together. Then there are a couple slower cars that will also be eliminated or at least pointed out so people are aware of them. The objective would be to end up with ten relatively equal cars. With these we would run them using the grab bag rules with the one added fuel that if you win with a car you are then eliminated from using that car again car. I would also like to try a cumulative bonus given to the two last place finishers that is reduced by the 5 pp each time they win. This should help even the field.

yes very close racing with these cars. although i never thought i would say it about an MR car, i wish it had just a little more oversteer on throttle lift off or when trail braking.

after 3 laps we were still bunched up like this! I think this race all 4 of us finished within 1 second or so.

Tsukuba is easily one of my favorite tracks but its tough to photograph on because its so bright. You have to crank down the exposure instead of up like most other tracks.

clutch - yeah, the integra has some understeer issues. I was able to manage it ok on controller but required a lot of throttle control coming out of corners. the power level and everything seems just right though. while the mm-R isnt nearly as bad, throwing more power at it might cause issues. we can test that sunday along with the Alfa.

Any idea on track lineup for next season? I know we havent tested any user tracks online because its kind of a pain in the ass to have to change lobbys for a track change. I tested a few of the ones I have, Watkins Glen is pretty good, its wide, has fairly accurate elevation changes. I just got a fantasy course called Lakeside Motor Circuit on Andalusia which I think is great. Probably one of the best fantasy circuits I have tried yet. I have versions of Sonoma Raceway and Mugello Circuit which are also pretty good.

here's a link to the Lakeside Motor Circuit https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gt6/user/#!/friend/GTP_Venari/course/1694735/

That said there are a ton of tracks in game. A few of my favorites...Tsukuba, Motegi East, Special Stage Rt 5, Cape Ring Periphery, Streets of Willow was mentioned in the 500F testing sessions.

unrelated image because i used this car for a GTP photo competition.

I do like these but Mudd and Sauce really have the final approval.

We have not run a FF series since the hot hatch series so maybe it is time to re visit FF cars.

We tried those again last night and they were even better than I remembered. They are also a possibility. Good car. I think my real issue is I want more drama. The C7 is just to well behaved a car for me.

Just tested these, although on SM tires. Also tested C5 Z06, and C4 ZR1. No oil changes, stock everything (except C4)

C7 definately has the best stock gearing. C5 I think handles a little better (its lighter) but the gearing is longer.

C4 is a bit down on PP compared to C5 and C7, and heavier. I threw stage 2 weight reduction, semi-racing exhaust, exhaust manifold, and catalytic converter on it. Sounds fantastic. Stock gearing kind of sucks, its really long. Also the worst handling of the 3 (but not bad still). I think gearing adjustments would actually help the handling, allowing a little more wheelspin on throttle, and a little more engine braking diving into turns to help keep weight on the front tires.

All 3 even with SM tires I wasnt getting a whole lot of wheelspin. Difficult to steer with the throttle or maybe Im just too slow.

In reply to e30Matt: We're still fairly undecided on what will be the 4th series. I suggest everybody buy failboat's and my FF car suggestions to see if they are possible for Series 8 or 9, my single opinion isn't enough to determine if and when we should run these cars.

Failboat: Nissan mm-R Cup Car '01 (FF)

Honda Integra Type R DC5 Touring Car '04 (FF)

Mine: Alfa Romeo GT 3.2 V6 24V '04 (FF) with SH tires.

Oh, and I forgot to run failboat's mm-R Cup Car with the mods he suggested, I just ran it stock yesterday.

Also, my suggestions will most likely be based on just a tire change if necessary to have a close or a SSS as possible, and enable quicker testing.
