I have spent three days trying to get my Fanatec GT3 RS v2 wheel to work with the game. No luck. Learning new expletives. Support is poor. Forums have been no help so far. The wheel is "officially" supported in the game.

aircooled wrote: The strange part here though is that the reason they don't work is because of some BS verification that is required or something (wheels WILL work, but only for 8 min, then they fail verification). So, why do Fantech wheels (like Argo's, which I am sure he did not buy in the last few months) work? I don't think there is anyway they have the security. The early suspicion is that individual games could write their own drivers, this may be what happened with Cars. Argo, Do your wheels buttons work in the main PS4 menus after 8 min? This bodes well for potential support in GT6 at least. Either way, it looks like some figured out a way to spoof the PS4: http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=1125782 Kind of silly, but better then shelling out another couple hundred bucks when you have a perfectly functional wheel.
that is good to know as I have a Momo racing force feedback in my closet for my PC
and then there is this...M4 Converter
Saw the GOTY edition pop up on the Xbox Store the other day, as well as the option to buy all the DLC in one fell swoop...so I popped for it hoping the game had greatly improved since the first few weeks.
It didn't disappoint.
In fact, I had the best AI racing experience ever trying to chase down a BMW 2002 race car in the '65 Mustang fastback.
So if it's been awhile since you've given it a try or you just wanted to give it a shot now that it's 40 bucks for the GOTY edition, I'd definitely recommend it.
In reply to Tactical Penguin: Hopefully they will come through with the proposed cross platform compatibility and you can join us on the GRM PCars league!
In reply to Argo1:
Here's hoping! I may fall in line anyway, I'm anxiously awaiting more news about Gran Turismo Sport and considering adding a PS4 to the lineup.
In reply to Tactical Penguin:
That would be great. We are running LMP2 cars for a short series, and then we'll be running GT3 cars.
When we run the GT3 cars, our series will run alongside a series over on GTPlanet. The VRR series will run 2/4 hour mixed class endurance races while we will run 45 minute races. The Wednesday before each endurance race we will run the same track.
Dam at that price. I think the maker's PC must have been reading the other thread as that is just to cheap not to get. hummm. Going to have to sort out the wheel issue now.
I am leaning towards the g37. Is it compatible with the PS3?
I'm looking at getting one of these: http://mobile.thrustmaster.com/en_UK/products/t150-force-feedback?destination=1016/1
The G37 is the G35 with a few more controller buttons. For driving there is no difference. Other than the shifter doesn't come with the 37 and is standard with the 35
FYI, the G29 / G920 are on Woot! at a bit of a discount:

OK, thread revival:
DD#1 bought me pCARS for my birthday, but I haven't broken the shrinkwrap yet. I don't have a PS4 compatible wheel, either. Two questions:
1) What wheel? I have an ancient Logitech Driving Force Pro. It would be nice to have a budget upgrade.
2) Should I trade the unopened pCARS in as a down payment on Asseto Corsa?
1) I do a decent job with control pad. Use it till you have funds for the wheel.
2) I have both and I would go with the one you have friends playing (hint: we have ProjCars league here.)
I snagged this in the winter steam sale. Will give it a go with the steam controller. Not enough time to play racing games currently to justify investing in a wheel :(
We are still running the GT6 series if anyone wants to come on over and drop in. The race series will be Wednesday nights as usual with Allaircooled hosting. I host a test and tune room on Sundays that we can test for the next week's race or test other things. Really just a have fun night.
The series on Wednesday nights are going to be jaguar e types tuned to 480 pp and 1980s Japanese FR cars tuned to 430 pp with an initial purchase price of less than $50,000. We have done lots of testing and both series have had very close fun racing.
I forgot to mention that drop ins are welcome. You don't have to commit to all the races in the series. It is much more about close fun racing than who wins the series.

Played this a bit tonight with the steam controller. Pretty good game.
I take it there is no PS4/Xbox/PC cross-play?
In reply to ProDarwin:
No cross play yet. It is technically possible, but the business people at Microsoft and Sony need to agree... I doubt that happens any time soon.
Project Cars is one of the Free Games with Gold this month on Xbox One. Should be in the store for free today or tomorrow until this time next month.
In reply to RevRico:
Dl'd this morning to give it a 2nd chance. There was a lot to fix, but it has been two years.
This has got to be the E36 M3tiest game on Earth. What's up with the 10 frames/sec? It's worse than it was two years ago!
In reply to racerfink:
10 frames/sec? That is your internet, not the game.
PS4 nor PC at my house has this problem.
There are a ton of things to check, but if all else fails (or as I did, try first) change your router DNS settings to a faster more consistent service.
10fps is crazy. Something is way wrong.
The game has never had a hiccup for me. I've played it at a smooth 60fps on a buddies xbox as well.
I will say that the AI cars don't seem to always update as frequently. Often in a slow corner when they are in your peripheral vision they appear jittery like they are only at 30fps or something. Reminds me of the silly 30fps bioshock physics
