Time for a new lid. Have found HJC CL-16 helmets for around $125-130. Is there anything that carries a M2010 rating that is less expensive? Prefer a yellow-centric color scheme. Links appreciated.

Not necessarily less expensive but I really like the Scorpion Exo helmets I have bought. Comfortable and pretty quiet.

I've had two Scorpion EXO helmets, a 700 and a 900. The 900 sucked, but the 700 was good.

My EXO700 is far above a similarly priced HJC.

Did I mention mine is a beautiful neon yellow/green?

Is this yellow enough?

FWIW, webBikeWorld is an excellent source for reviews of motorcycle stuff.

There are a lot of websites that have great deals on helmets. Sportbiketrackgear, etc.

You should be able to find a CL14 with 2010 shell on the shelf discounted to $70 or $80 range. Loads of NIB nos out there but ask your self this. Do i want my head in a helmet that 2 or 3 years old to start with. Your bigger more expensive helmets have born on dates and are warranted for 5 to 7 years. HJC and other lower cost ones are not. Now that being said HJC is not a bad unit i liked my AC-11 and retired it only due to the signatures i had on it of former racers. But I like my Shoie Qwest MUCH more.

I think that I am now leaning with a getting a lid that has the ECE 22.05 rating--it seems as though that is the better standard. All major motorcycle sanctioning bodies accept that for their helmet requirements. I am leaning towards the AFX FX100.
