2016 Honda Civic Touring new car reviews

The 2016 Honda Civic Touring comes from the factory with something new and exciting: a turbocharger that coerces 174 horsepower out of the 1.5-liter engine. Our test car came with the CVT transmission option, but you can have one of these with a manual.

Well, so much for the Civic's tiered dashboard. This one goes back to the usual.

We have a 2014 Civic Si and, to be honest, I kind of like the tiered dash. It looks a little weird at first, but it does place the important info right where you want to see it. The new one does look good, though.

Our car had the new turbo engine plus the automatic box. When you turn off the Eco mode, you can hear a little whistle. In a stock Civic, that feels a little weird, but I mean that in a good way.

Back in the day, we played with Civics because they were simple, light and effective. Those days are long gone, as I don't see the new base car having much enthusiast interest. As a people-mover, though, it works just fine.

Glad the manual is still an option. Not sure about the styling, but it'll grow on me.

Is the 1.5 the L15a/b/c??? If so, don't plan on any modding... both gen's of Honda Fit are untuneable, and therefore, worthless for performance gains.

I don't think we have to worry about that.

I don't know who thought the world needed origami designed cars but it needs to die.

Well good for them for FINALLY getting around to it. Back when I had those cars they had nothing, and I had money. Idiots.
