Between the planning stage and having something that runs and drives, a lot can happen when building a race car for less than $2000–so we’re making it easier than ever to plan your entry into our annual low-buck motorsports festival, the Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge Presented by Tire Rack.

Now when you register for the $2000 Challenge, your payment information will be saved, but you won’t be charged until a few days before the event.

Plans change? Need more time to finish that build? No worries, you can cancel up until three days before the start of the $2000 Challenge to get a full refund.

We’re making these changes to make sure everyone planning to compete gets the chance to register with their preferred numbers–even if they aren’t in a position to pay the registration fee months in advance.

The 2025 Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge Presented by Tire Rack takes place March 29-30, 2025, at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida.

i'm glad y'all got some pix of the one run MonZora made in 2024.

EDIT: even at speed, i friggin' hate wagon wheels, but they saved me some $ in the budget.

9.5/10, would be 10/10 if less shiny.

I would love to drive that corvair sometime...I still miss the one I had even though it was sinkhole to pour money into.
