Yesterday marked the second day of the 2021 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, brought to you by Gran Turismo race week. It's also the first of three practice and qualifying sessions before the big show on June 27 (click here for the full race week schedule).

Rupert Berrington and his crew are at the 99th running of the iconic hillclimb taking photos, handing out GRM stickers, and probably having a great time. Look for photos on our site throughout the week and this weekend—like these from yesterday’s practice and qualifying session:

I'm eager to see how the modified Tesla  does.  1020 horsepower to start? Unaffected by altitude?

Just watched the U-tube video of Randy doing the hill in a Plaid Tesla.  Pretty damn impressive.  Using the siren to tell folks he is coming is a bit distracting.

Hopefully better than the Model3 did last year. He couldn't keep that thing on the road. I think 2, maybe 3 offs over the weekend? I'm sure it was a good learning experience for the team (assuming he's back with the same team).

I heard one of them (black #98 I think) set a new open wheel qualifying record today.

I understand, I don't know if any mere mortal can deal with that level of acceleration.  Not that it has much in the way of aero help.

Mike DuSold's Camaro is the one Camaro I like.  Dig all the crazy one-off builds showing up for this event.
