Two names linked to American racing–Andretti and GM–plan to enter Formula 1. They look to compete under the Cadillac brand, and with at least one American driver.

The team will be based in the U.S., with a support facility in the U.K.

To compete in Formula 1, the Andretti Cadillac team will submit an “Expression of Interest when the FIA opens the formal process.”

Not sure I am excited yet. Once they get all the approvals I will be able to feel it is more than a exploration of possible entry.

I do hope they get on the grid!

It's far from a done deal. I'll believe it when I see it...

If Cadillac goes all electric shouldn't they race in Formula E?

So hoping this happens.  Yeah I know it's a long shot.  US presence in F1 again would be huge!

For nostalgia reasons it would be neat if they could somehow include Gurney's All American Racers as a minority partner.

Haas F1 has been running since the 2016 season and is HQ'd outside of Charlotte, but another American program would be nice to see in my opinion.

Yeah but the last few seasons running the red white and blue in Russians order sorta took the shine off that for me.
