Kenton Koch is making the jump to formula lites.

In 2014, Kenton Koch was crowned champion of the MX-5 Cup. With that title comes a scholarship from Mazda to make the next jump in his career. He’s just signed a contract with JDC Motorsports to run as part of a four-car IMSA Formula Lites team. 2015 will be Kenton’s second year as a Mazda Motorsports Development driver and his fifth consecutive year being aided by scholarship funds.

Let’s hear it for Mazda for making pro racing attainable to those who may not have the money to go all the way.

I was not aware of the Mazda Scholarships. Not entirely unrelated; the look of the new MX-5 is growing on me.
